The only sentient/intelligent monsters in the PHB are the four available for PotChain Warlocks to get. There isn’t even a “commoner” statblock for DMs. Anyone else notice that? Any ideas why?
Did PHB2014 have any statblocks? It's not showing as a source on the app. I was under the impression it would only be containing statblocks for Druids etc, so basically beasts, which generally aren't intelligent.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.

The only monsters in the PHB are mounts, familiars, summoned creatures, and a selection of wild shape forms.
What you are looking for is part of the monster manual.

I don't have a sub, so I can't verify.
It has druid forms, familiars, summoned creatures (I think included with the spell rather than the back of the book). With the exception of the Imp I don't think any of the creatures should be sentient.

Because they're there to support spells, class features, and beasts of burden, and there aren't any low level features other than pact of the chain that involve sentient/intelligent monsters.
Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
Wait, I thought the ‘14 PHB had at least basic commoners, bandits, and guards or something. The basics, y’know? Guess I was mistaken. 🤷♂️
Maybe you were thinking of the Basic Rules? The 2014 Basic Rules had some of those statblocks under the Nonplayer Characters section. It seems the '24 Free Rules don't have that section, though.

That will likely be added when the Basic Rules/Monster Manual is released. Currently I think the Basic Rules exists with the PHB Content likely to let people try out the new edition.

I assume because it's the PHB and not the MM.

If this transition is anything, it is confusing!
I can't tell if it is designed to be and we are being punished, or if they simply did not think it through.

Sposta - check the updated ( but still incomplete) 2024 basic rules that might have those stat blocks - I haven’t checked as I don’t need them yet.
