I am very new to DnD Beyond. I use the character creation tool to play "table top" DnD, and I have noticed that some options are not available "out of the box" (I have not purchased any player's handbooks). In my case I am running a Wizard character and I would like him to be able to take the Divination arcane tradition but it does not appear as an option. I have read in other posts that you need to have access to the 2014 player's handbook to be able to see all the available options.
Am I correct in thinking this? If I am, must I purchase the 2014 PHB or will purchasing the 2024 PHB give me access to these too?
I imagine I need to purchase the digital version, or will buying any version unlock these choices in the character builder tool?
If you're playing the 2014 rules and want to play the 2014 version of the Divination subclass, you need to buy/get access to the 2014 Player's Handbook.

The 2024 5e Players Handbook includes the Wizard Subclass Diviner.
Although without owning those books you might not be able to view those links.
I see that the 2014 5e Free Basic Rules only include the School of Evocation subclass for Wizards, and the 2024 5e Free Basic Rules only include the Evokersubclass.
So, yes, you are correct in your thinking, you will not have access to the Divination Subclass until you purchase the book.
Now, with that said... If you have a friend that owns the book and is a member of the Master Tier, you can join a 'Campaign' with them through D&D-B and you will gain access to all of the books they have purchased.
Aside from that, you would need to purchase the Players handbook you want to use. As D&D is moving toward the 2024 style, I would suggest that one, but that is just me :)

The arcane tradition only kicks in a few times at specific levels, the value of what you get from the tradition varies each time.
It would not be easy to homebrew a non-broken way of multiple specialization https://100001****/ https://1921681254.mx/ .
Thanks for the information. You have all been very helpful.
