I am not the DM, but I bought the Master subscription. I made the campaign so I could share resources. How do I transfer all the DM powers to another person who only has a Hero subscription. would we be able to share books still?
Or can the Hero tier person start a new campaign and I still join to share resources?
You can't currently transfer the DM role to another user. However, the DM doesn't need to be the one that has the Master Tier subscription for content sharing to work.
To solve your particular issue (setting up another player as DM, but still having content sharing on your subscription), you can do the following:
Have the prospective DM make a fresh campaign
Get the Join Link for that campaign
Disable content sharing on your old campaign (that you're the DM of)
Have everyone remove their characters from the old campaign
Have everyone join the new campaign using the Join Link (you included)
You can then enable content sharing on the new campaign (even though you're not the DM)
The other player will now be the DM of this campaign, content sharing will be on using your master tier sub, and everyone will have access to the same content.
I'd love there to be a feature (at least on the roadmap) to easily transfer campaign ownership from one DM to another. The current process is far from ideal.
Or at the very least allow multiple DMs. I work with a teacher to try and do an afterschool program where we play D&D with middle schoolers. It's difficult to manage so many kids and only have one of us that are DMing be able to make modifications to their sheets. It's silly really. Please just add the ability to have multiple DMs per campaign.
This is still something that hasn’t been implemented in 2025… I was just checking if this was a function too. Please make more quality of life updates like this dev team!!!!

Hey @Davyd,
Is this still the process for transferring the DM role or has there been an update since this was posted a couple of years ago?
Best,

This is still the process.
Okay thanks Inumiru!
Disappointing that it is still the process.
