The new Forgotten Realms books were just added to the Marketplace. Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun is showing as $29.99 for the digital version and Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun is showing $39.99 for the digital version, however the Forgotten Realms Digital Bundle for both books is $126.93... how do they get $126.93 from $29.99+$39.99?
That makes a lot more sense. The way it was showing it, it looked like the digital bundle was only the two books and did not include the extra expansions as the digital bundle page does not give any details other than that it includes both books and then advertises the ultimate bundle instead saying it comes with physical and digital books and expansions.
If the Expansions are similar to the recently available to purchase Stranger Things book, that was $20, which means you're paying for those and getting the Map Pack and Digital Dice free.
If the Expansions are similar to the recently available to purchase Eberron: Forge of the Artificer book, that was $30, which means you get the Map Pack and Digital Dice free, AND a free Expansion!
Add an extra $33 and get physical copies of the two Forgotten Realms books too!
The Ultimate Bundle at $160 says you save $76, putting it at a total value of $236. If you then subtract the $110 cost of the physical books, you’d get the $126 cost of the digital bundle.
This is why i like to buy physical from my FLGS. Getting more than i Bargained for should be Warlock plot points, not my purchasing experience.

Which means that the only savings you get by bundling them together is if you buy the physical and digital books as the ultimate bundle.
If you bought any of the discontinued bundles when they were available it is actually cheaper to buy everything separately. With the legendary bundle the savings would be $10.50 over buying the digital bundle possibly more if the discount is applicable to the expansions and map pack. So the purchases can be made separately and at different times to both save money and spread out the cost over time as well. Though this method would likely cost wotc more due to the increased transaction fees associated with multiple purchases instead of a single purchase.
Yeah. I've got the legendary bundle discount, but it won't apply to the digital bundle... I guess because it includes things other than books. I don't care about the dice, and I doubt I'll care about the map, so if I wind up just buying all the individual book options with the legendary bundle, I'll be saving a good bit over the digital bundle. Letting the legendary (and other) bundle discounts apply to the digital bundle here would likely drive more sales toward the complete bundle rather than piecemeal purchases.
The way the legacy Legendary discount applies in the current marketplace is iffy and confusing. For example, *sometimes* I see it reflected in the listed price and *sometimes* I see it reflected only in the Cart. So if you don't think you're getting the discount on the digital bundle, try putting it in your cart and see if it shows up.
Can confirm the Legendary Discount applied for me, which was great. If it didn't, then I was just going to buy the books and expansions (when they release) separately and forego the maps and dice. It still seems weird to me that the Digital Only Bundle had no built-in discount, but I suppose that if it did then the Legendary Discount wouldn't have been applicable, and that was probably a bigger savings anyway. Either way, I'm happy with the outcome.

If you actually look at it, you will see that the digital bundle contains several other things beyond those two books.

The digital bundle includes the digital copies of both Forgotten Realms books, three digital expansions, a dice set, and a map pack.

Meaning the digital "extras" are costing about $60 . . . damn.
So, maybe not a math error, but WotC dropping the ball again . . . unless these three "DLC" expansions are MEATY.
I’ve asked to see if we can get individual prices to share.

Since this is ostensibly a thread about math... 😅

I can confirm that the expansions are $14.99 each, and the dice set and map pack are $5.99 each.

Since the expansions are $14.99 each and the map and dice set are each $5.99, you do not save any money by buying them as the bundle.
14.99*3=44.97
5.99*2=11.98
44.97+11.98+29.99+39.99=126.93
Which means that the only savings you get by bundling them together is if you buy the physical and digital books as the ultimate bundle.
That does seem to be the case, yeah, which means the digital bundle is likely just there as a convenience option.

Looks like the discount works on the bundle now, and it is 15% of the entire bundle for those with the legendary bundle.
