I'm trying to get a couple of my players set up in my campaign, but neither one has a D&D Beyond account, so I want to make them as unassigned characters in the Campaign. Sadly, for whatever reason, it limits me to 3 characters then removes the option for unassigned. Any suggestions?
I assume that you have 3 characters yourself (not in that campaign)? Each basic free D&D Beyond account can have up to 6 characters. When you unassign a character, it still counts towards your 6 character limit until another account claims it.

What not just have them make a free account? Do you have books to share but no sub?
I figured it out. I had accidentally let my sub expire, and so had a surplus of unassigned characters.
