I have started playing D&D with the original game from Gary Gygax, the one that came before Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. I have a lot of very good memories from this game and a lot of modules. Of course, AD&D was much better and now the 5th edition is for me really, really good as it goes again in the direction of "rational simplicity".
I am curious about a few things:
how to convert old D&D campaigns to 5th edition
would it be possible to implement the quest for immortality from the old D&D into the new rules?
is there a new equivalent of the Dungeon magazine?
You can also take a look at Tales From the Yawning Portal for conversion examples. It has updated versions of The Hidden Shine of Tamoachan, Against the Giants and Tomb of Horrors.
Like the conversion guide says, don't sweat the small stuff. Try to use as many pre-created 5th edition building blocks as you can get away with, and make small tweaks to monster stat blocks or magic items if you can't find something that feels right. As usual, the Dungeon Master's Guide is full of great advice too.
Yeah, you are. Imho, some of the best modules were written for that rules set. Night's Dark Terror, Quest for the Heartstone, Crown of Ancient Glory, Saga of the Shadowlord to name a few. You can look here for conversions of some of those old modules:

Here is the official document from WotC about the conversion to fifth edition.
WotC also officially releases a digital magazine called Dragon+. There is also the mobile app version.
Wow, THANKS!
