I agree. Sorry... I just don't click links on forums. Even in the battle between IamSposta and BioWizard... (though to be fair, nearly every time they link one of Matt Colville's videos, they include a screenshot so you know what is behind the link) If there was some kind of description, or supporting evidence showing what was going on or anything besides a hyperlink then you are more liable to get buy in from your audience and less people just Viewing and Leaving.

As you say, many of the links have a video screenshot. Though sometimes the DDB forum doesn't like those and I can't include them. But you can always hand type the youtube URL into a browser and know it is safe.
The OP's link does appear to go to a Google Doc, but I didn't click on it to check.

WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.

I think some explanation is really needed about this whole cost system. So do I as a level 1 character only get 1 cost to spend? Or do I get a number equal to all my ASIs combined? Also very bad idea to attach spell slots to a cost mechanic. Look at if I take the standard aray I''l have an Intelligence score of 15 so at level 1 I have a 3 score if I don't a have a +2 racial bonus, with that I"ll have a score of 4. So 6 5th level spells slots (1 of the prior levels each). Do you know what it's like to try and balance encounters around a fighter who can deal at most 1d10 + Modifier damage, and a wizard who can just cast 6 upcasted fireballs a day a level 1? They have level 1 HP so I can't throw anything to big at them but they have the ability to nuke any level 1 encounters. Also why does a ritual have a cost? does that mean I have to always have 0.1 "cost" available to cast it or does that mean to learn it I need to spend 0.1 cost. That's a little out of balance since spells that aren't rituals (besides cantrips) don't have a cost. Also do these spell cots take from my pool of spell slot cost? or a different cost? I have cantrips that cost something when I can have 40 1st level spells slots to cast my "free" known spells. Says 40, 4 cost point gets you 10 1st level spells per point.
Overall this system need better progression than just handing out points and saying "go to town." Way more restriction is needed so you don't have what is already a very tight balance between martial and magic classes. With this system the magic classes will far out preform any martial class. A 20th level wizard get 5 + 20 (go look at my math for the 5th level spells and you can easily see that Wizards will have like 30 9th level spells slots) points to spend on spell slots where a fighter gets 20 points but can only take extra attack 4 times for a cost of 4. Even at 20 9th level spells the wizard will just blow up any encounter before the fighter can land his 5 attacks.
I also feel like while this system can be improved at it's core it is not D&D at this point and just a new system like Fate. So I like the idea but this definitely needs a lot of work to completely overhall a system that is not balanced for point buy character creation.

We're working on how to make the whole cost thing more clear (I was very confused at first about the cost and the rankings), this was all kind of haphazardly thrown together with the idea of a point-buy system in mind. As for the spell slot cost, yeah you're right it needs some balancing. It means that you can use your cost/points to permanently buy a spell slot.
Ive been working a bit on making a more flexible way to create characters. I would like feedback. this is the link https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PSP2WYoCMixfYgnCPQ3DEAYcvHZP0UFwuu_JtFL6L_g/edit?usp=sharing

If you really want more flexible characters then pour you’re ASIs into Dex and grab Expertise in (Acrobatics) somehow. 😂
