First time posting here and planning on getting one of the bundles when a discount/coupon comes out because I currently can't afford them all. But before I make this purchase, I was wondering how references work since I play with people who have the actual books.
Using Fire Bolt as an example, when I click on it I can see that the information about it can be found in the PHB on pg. 242. If I were to get the source books, would I then be able to click on the PHB, pg. 242 in that information box to bring up the actual PHB, pg. 242 in another window? Or would I basically have to search for it manually on the site?
The compendium content on the site doesn't use pages or paginated layout as you'd find in the books. For example, all the spells are listed on a single 'page' https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/phb/spells
The page reference, which is only used for listings (when you view something from a search on its own), are mainly for looking up in the physical books, they don't relate to the digital compendium
Thanks for the information. Looks like I'll probably just have to keep another window open to make any reference searching easily available if need be. I know all the information is pretty much written in the pop up box but sometimes the people in my group like to look at the source to verify for themselves.
