I'm trying to decide what to do for his next ASI/Feat level. I'm torn between War Magic to be more effective in combat (and helpful to the party) or one of the feats that give +1 to INT. If I do keen mind, he might be able to use magical tinkering to create R2-D2 style holograms for the party in case something needs to be recalled. Observant might be useful too, but I'm not sure.
I'm just looking for suggestions and opinions primarily. Thanks for any help.
Maybe it's just me, but I hate seeing an odd number on a character's primary ability score. I think out of those concepts I'd go for Observant... Keen Mind is fun and all, but keeping good notes will accomplish largely the same thing. Observant has some fun immediate effects and can totally change how a lot of moments play out. So that's where my vote goes.
Hmmm. You have three odd ability scores, one of them in your spellcasting stat. I'd either take an ASI and bump INT and WIS (wisdom saves can be a b*tch), or maybe take Warcaster, since you have a lot of concentration spells on your list.
Thanks for the info. I might go with Warcaster first, observant second, and then max out INT third. I feel like that would go along with the character as well.
Observant is great if you're a Diviner. Arcane Eye and Clairvoyance are more useful allowing you to still spy on a conversation without having to "switch to hearing only" for clairvoyance or use higher levels slots for Scrying spell.
