So when you add an Action  to a subclass and chose Spell, it appears you can ad a pseudo like spell entry.  I am not seeing this in the spell lest however.  Am I missing the purpose of this action?

These add special actions to the character sheet, so you can quickly see them in the actions section of the character sheet. This could be a special type of unarmed attack like Tabaxi claws, or a special spell attack like the Revived Rogue's Bolts From The Grave. 

It is not for adding a spell to your spell list, it is for adding a spell attack to your actions.
