I've been developing a feat for my players and I want it to allow access to a specific creature. Unfortunately this creature is one that I've also had to homebrew. So here is the struggle I'm running into:

In a homebrew Feat I can create a Creature Rule, which gains access to a creature. In the process of creating that option within the feat I can either 1) create a rule, or 2) Choose Monsters. My first thought was, 'Well I'll just pick a monster, other homebrew creations have shown up in previous homebrew creations."

No dice! I begin to type in the creature name that I created and quickly run out of options and never see my creation. 

The option to 'Create a Rule', is even less helpful, it only allows me to assign very broad restrictions: Creature Group (Beast Companion, Familiar, ect), Monster Type, and a few other options that don't help me restrict the choice to a specific creature.

Are homebrew creatures going to become available to link into feats?

They don't need to be linkable to feats. Either way your players can add it to their character sheet themselves.

In the future, the homebrew tools will be completely reworked, at that time it you may be able to add new creature categories, etc.

 Any word on when a rework will be rolling out? Just to appease my curiosity.

Thanks, I have a bad habit of asking the question before I go looking for the answer myself. I found the road map, but saw that the goals are listed as long and short term.

Considering that I can hardly code to my way out of a spread sheet, I'll be content to wait.
