I'm sort of confused on character creation. Skills actually. I dont want to bug my DM as he's busy and I dont want to seem like a lost cause and I've googled but is still confused. Our level is going to be 5 and I'm a half elf, half orc war cleric. If this isnt allowed here, I understand. But would liked to be pointed in the right direction or have someone explain a good build of feats with a cleric... I'm lost, please help me with skills and figuring it out. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
In regards to Feats, go War Caster - Easy pick if you're going to be on the front lines; your allies will thank you for keeping that concentration spell up!

First of all, I'm not sure if you're a half-elf or a half-orc, statwise. You can flavorfully be both, but not mechanically unless your DM has made a homebrew race. I only mention this because that choice has some bearing on the skills you can choose. (Half-elf gives you two skills of your choice, Half-orc gives you Intimidation).
Next, choose a background. The background will give you two predetermined skills. Simple enough.
Finally, choose skills from your class skill list. The Cleric specifically allows you to select two skills from a small list of 5 or so skills. Pick two of those.
You should end up with 6 skills (half-elf) or 5 skills, one of which is Intimidation (half-orc).
It's not too difficult once it's spelled out for you, though it can be one of the trickiest parts of character creation for a new player. :) If any of that's unclear, feel free to ask.
If your DM won't help you I would suggest finding a new one. A good DM would help her players get the most out of a game
My campaign will be leveling up at our next session. My self and on of my more advanced players will then spend time with the others helping them streamline. However, now that I have DNDB content and a subscription it has made my PC's job a lot easier for advancement. But we will still offer insight and suggestions on various options.

Partway through the quest for absolute truth.
