I am brand new to DnD and i am really excited to get into it. i am a lvl 1 half elf cleric. that being said i was looking into the spells that open up to me the farther i level up. i came across the meld stone spell, and i had a question. could i use this spell as an slightly offensive move? ie: i am in a dungeon last one not unconscious and back against a stone wall. The enemy swings its weapon or luges at me can i use the spell to touch the wall to "catch and or hold" the enemy into the wall?
Rules as written, no. It only allows your enter with your equipment, but a forgiving DM might say heck yeah. I like the idea. Makes me think of something Shadowcat would do.
The spell let's you use movement to leave the stone whenever you want so you wouldn't capture them or anything. However, you can do that with Stone Shape spell with a little DM fiat.
However, Rule of Cool, I'd say sure. There'd be a check to see if you succeed and the enemy can use actions on future turns to make Strength saves against spell save DC to break free. You'd be using an action and a reaction to attempt in order to restrain the target. I'd allow that - there's a 2nd level spell that can achieve a similar and more flexible version, so if you wanted to use a 3rd level - eh, why not. **** it, I'd probably just homebrew a Reaction spell like this and give that to you, saves using both action and reaction. Not OP and it's cool.

I was inspired to make this spell. Perhaps your DM will let you use it?
