One of my players is a barbarian with a 9 in intelligence and for story purposes wants to multi class into wizard (just for 1-2 levels). I’m willing to let him try it but DnD beyond says he doesn’t meet the stat requirements. Is there a way to override this? Yeah it’s not optimal but for goofy fun sake he wants to try. Any help would be great!
Ah, so the DnD Beyond system wont let you no matter what? Darn. Like I’m not looking to up his intelligence in game, just looking to add it in the DDB system.
There should be an option to turn off the multiclass stat requirements on the first page of the character creator/editor. After that, even a barbarian with 3 intelligence can become a wizard!
Considering he’s not the brightest candle- I’d totally impose a chance of real consequence or back fire....- some real penalty for a dumbarse playing with fire. Maybe even on a successful hit, a chance of him burning his hands and taking damage or something. Summoning a familiar with a broken wing-

I mean he would already be getting reduced chance to hit and DC from low int. I'd keep consequences cosmetic

If you want a solution within the rules, try taking the Magic Initiate feat. It'll let you learn a few Wizard spells.
Ah, nice idea! I'll leave it up to him if he'd like to utilize that instead later on. He is a level 5 barbarian (getting a 6th level) so he wouldn't get any new feats for a while. But I'll leave that suggestion open for him!

While appreciated, I'm not looking for mechanics suggestions. Just wanted to know where to find such a thing in the character creator. Thank you for the input, though!
I've got an Orc Wizard with an int of 8. Doombulldone (Dumbledumb to his party members,) regrets his primary class choice. With an int so low, he's stuck with it!
Wizards learn therir magic from years of studying so while you CAN remove the 13 int requirement I don't think it really fits.
Anyone could suddenly get magically abilities asa sorcerer given the right series of events even if they have low charisma so if he just wantsthe fun of MCing into a caster that would be a more realistic option.

Once again, I appreciate the opinions but I just wanted an answer about where this was located. I’ve already found my answer though. Thread closed.

No, unless you get a Headband of Intellect.
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:

On the first page of the character creator there is a toggle under use prerequisites "Multiclass Requirements"
Turn that off and you should be golden.
Note that this CAN be changed after the character has been created.

Sounds like a good use for the Wild Magic table.
