I don't know if it's been asked before, but is it possible to homebrew a class (or subclass) to use a different ability ?
Ex: I tried doing it for the Hexblade (wanted to do an Int based warlock) and it works for the spellcasting part but not for other abilities like hex warrior (still working with charisma...)
I did not see a way to change the inherent hexblade ability. You may be able to take the battlesmith ability to use int on attack for it. Artificer > battlesmith > battle ready.
Hopefully this helps you, next time post in homebrew some of those peeps no this stuff inside and out.

"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
makes me kinda wish there was some ability to let you use constitution for damage on heavy weapons... hmmm

dex is way better imo than con. Damage scaling off dex is far more problematic than con scaling is imo.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
Only class I see con scaling for damage even being interesting would be a barbarian subclass.

If a Blood Mage existed, it would undoubtedly use Con as a casting stat. You could make Wis work instead, but it wouldn't feel the same. Which... would be the whole point of a Blood Mage, the feel of the class relative to other classes.
But... but why? I could see psionics using con before sorcerors. Activating the effects taking a heavy toll on the body kind of situation. But why sorcerer?

Because Constitution makes more sense than Charisma. Sorcerers have innate spells, which come from how they have been changed somehow by their specific bloodline. If any existing class should be based around Constitution, it should be the Sorcerer.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:

This would suggest, however, that their life-force is what is powering their spells (ie Bloodmagic). Based on literally everything in the DnD Lore about magic and The Weave, this is not how Sorcerers wield magic.
That said, Sorcerers have proficiency in Con Saves. So maybe a Blood Mage subclass could be created for the Sorcerer, that scales with Con instead of Cha, and can use its HP in place of or in addition to Sorcery Points?

There's an inherent problem with making a pure defensive stat (Con) also scale as an offense stat (whether it be weapons, or spellcasting).
Dexterity *cough*

Nowhere near the same ballpark, though I agree that too many things scale with Dex.

(Sorcerers should use Constitution.)
