In a current campaign that I am in, I spoke to my DM about making my goliath genie blade pact warlock multiclass with barbarian, and taking Path of the Ancestral Guardian, if she survives to reach level 5. I'd be flavoring it to instead of her ancestors appear, the souls of her allies appear to protect the party.
Bard College of Lore 12 (for those good spells) with Rogue 2 and Monk Way of the Open hand 6. [Pretty sure it makes my Vampiric Touch have a higher HitDC too, making healing myself that much easier and saving me a bonus action]
I have a high dmg spellcaster whose weakness of CQB just became his second biggest strength, in combination with extreme flexibility with move sets and the ability to easily disengage and escape bad situations.

I really like the general theme here. Some kind of ancestral spirit patron is a whole that could and should be filled.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.

Little bit of warlock makes everything better lol. Ok I’m not sure about that but I a feel like you can add 2 levels of warlock to just about anything and it works.
I wouldn’t say my idea is “weird” necessarily but I recently created a Darth Maul inspired Monk 8/Warlock 2. Repelling blast for “force pushing” with eldritch blast and uses a magical quarterstaff that deals force damage and not bludgeoning to match his sick double sided lightsaber.

This is totally awesome! I like how you have a story to support the concept.
My best multi-class was an Evocation Wizard who, after picking up a flame tongue sword at level 3, multi-classed as a Fighter.

That's pretty cool. I even have a name for the warlock barbarian multiclass: Warbarian, or my DM thought, Barlock sounds cool.
