hey guys, I’m new to DnD Beyond since a month or 2, so please bear with me. So on the fighter sub forums I read something about a possible change to Booming Blade. Considering that this is a spell introduced in another book, will we be able to read somewhere about these balancing changes (sort of like patch notes) to spells/feats/items from other books introduced in Tasha’s, for people who don’t own Tasha but dó want to play the most updated version of the spells/feats/etc they have access to?
If a change of that magnitude is being made, to the actual rules rather than being an Optional Rule, there will also be an Errata published detailing any changes to material originating in other books.
Since WotC is officially hanging the spell, Beyond will likely also update the spell everywhere else to reflect the new version of the spell. If you have access to the spell from any other source, it should (once Tasha's comes out) show the most up-to-date version of it here on Beyond.
Just to clarify, D&D Beyond always presents the most up-to-date version of the Dungeons & Dragons rules.
When a new sourcebook updates the function or wording of existing content, we'll update that content on D&D Beyond.
Thanks for the reply! Just to be clear, will you also include all these “patch notes” on the site/forums? I hope I don’t have to look up every single spell I’m using on the site to see íf Tasha’s has made a change to said spell 😅
I probably won’t buy Tasha’s on release but do like playing with the newest set of rules 😊

Wizards of the Coast publish the errata documents that describe what changes are made in these updates. There's a DDB thread about it here.

Ah cool to know, thanks so much :D
