Sorry for bad spelling, never been the best at it.
I have been playing D&D for a year and my DM suggested to buy the Player's Handbook (of course). When I saw it at a shop I imerely purchased it. It was only something like $55 so I thought it was a good price. Now I want to transfer my character sheet from paper to D&D Beyond but don't have the entertainer background. I know I could buy it for two bucks but I would like to use other things from the Player's Handbook in the future. Is there someway I could transfer the book? Could I perhaps post photos to staff/admin to prove I have the book and they give me a code or is that not allowed? Is there some other way of doing it? If not, will there?
D&D Beyond is a separate company from Wizards of the Coast. Profits from the sales of physical books go to WotC, not to DDB. Because of this, it doesn’t matter to DDB whether you own the physical book or not.

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
It is possible to get the player's handbook digitally if you have the own the physical book. You buy the digital book that's how. That said, while paying for the what you want is possible, it's also possible to homebrew the background and build your character that way for free, minus the cost of your labor.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
Keep in mind that you don't lose anything by buying piecemeal. If you purchase the entertainer background for 1.99 now, the cost of the PHB here drops by 1.99, as does the cost of the backgrounds bundle within the PHB. If you purchase something else individually from the PHB, that adds to the credit you have toward the entire PHB. So you can gradually add elements as you need them.
