I'm going to put a list of some of the homebrew content I've created. I would love honest thoughts and opinions on how to make these things better. I know I am not a profesional, but I do enjoy the hombrew hobby and would love to improve. Keep in mind, some of these are from the vaults of when I first started. that being said, here we go.
I know it's a lot to dump on you guys. I don't expect everyone to comment on everything, however if you choose to comment, please name the item you are speaking of. Thank you for your time and I'm excited for your feedback.
The Aruk is cool. I would put a period after “force damage” and use the word “target” instead of “enemy”. Is there a good reason for the leading “a “ or is that to boost it in the rankings?
I like Shadow Plate but I feel its stationary invisibility isn’t cause for a very rare item. There’s a lot of conditions that have to be met and in combat, if no one goes near them, the advantage given by invisibility is useless.
I am perplexed by the Milkman. What archetypal milkmen are you pulling from? My idea of a milkman adventurer is directly linked to Ronnie Soak in Terry Pratchett’s novel Thief of Time, a good natured dairyman who always drops the milk off at 7 a.m. I don’t remember him ever seducing a housewife. It’s fair to say that there is a lot about lonely wives and flaws from the urchin background. Are there any other poor qualities of milkmen that can be remarked upon?
I noticed that the milkman gets three skill proficiencies. Backgrounds give two so I would strike one. Also, what is a milkman doing having proficiency in thieves’ tools? What about cooks’ utensils or brewer supplies? And isn’t a pet rat really unsanitary?
"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
The a at the beginning of aruk was a shameless attempt to get ot seen. I will definitely make use of your suggestions grammatically. and drop the a from the name.
Your comment on the rarity of shadow plate is appreciate. I didn't realize I had set it to very rare.
The milkman background is in reference to an old joke. If a child was born and had a noticable lack of the father's features, people would say things along the lines of "must've been the milkman" because they would deliver on their routes during the day, while husbands were at work.
The comments on the skills however are noted and I will balance them.
