Technically no. But if you take a look at the Haunted One background, it comes with a Monster Hunter's pack as starting equipment, so a homebrew background is one way of putting together a homebrew pack.

Ok, thanks I have it written out so I can just go thru the equipment list selecting the items but it would have nice. Maybe in a later version - someone had to put together the packs that exist so there should be a mechanism.
1 every pack should have a tinderbox - most do but one or two don’t and NO ONE goes around traveling without the basic means to start a fire when needed.
2 every pack should have at least 1 whetstone (and two preferably course and fine) to keep your weapons sharp. Even mages carry daggers which become camp tools and need sharpening regularly.
I realize that these are based off the WOtC packs so maybe pass this back to them for updating in an errata. I would also love to see an expanded pack with really everything the well supplied adventurer might need my home brew pack costs 30 GP so it can be done at not unreachable costs for low level characters. If anyone wants to see my version let me know privately.

They cannot change any of that. Those packs were all designed by the actual game designers who work for WotC. This website is not owned by the same company, and can’t change any of that. (It would be like Barnes&Nobels employees going in with a ballpoint pen and editing the PHB.)

As I said, I realize they are based on the WOtC packs. I am also aware that WOtC and DDB are 2 separate entities, however, I am also aware that they work fairly closely together AND that a number of the WOtC developers are on here so they may see this and take it back directly as well. We play test their UA stuff and report back our thoughts and they make use of it as they see fit. So I have no problems making suggestions more or less directly to them.

Is there a way to homebrew your own version of an equipment pack like the explorer's pack?

There is a mechanism, but it’s locked behind admin privledges and we only have user privileges.

Ok then some things for the admins to think on:
