Basicly the title. How do you increase the amount of dice for homebrew spells. I searched through fireball and couldn't find it, I copied the thing in fireball but it still doesn't work. Thanks
The easiest way to learn how is to find a spell that already scales damage like you want, and then use it as a template to see how it was programmed.
It all depends on what kind of spell.
For a Cantrip you need to have the scale type set to “character level,” and then add the increased damage at 5th, 11th, and 17th levels.
For non Cantrips, instead set it to “spell scale” and then you only need to set up what a single increase would look like. (For example: If it’s a 1st-level spell that does 3d6, and does an additional 1d6 at higher levels, then the spell scaling only needs “scaling level value” = 1, “scale effect” = “additional points,” “dice count” = 1, and “die type” = d6. Then [SAVE], and after that you MUST re-save the entire spell using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information. That tells the system “for every spell level above base, it deals an additional 1d6 points of damage.”

I meant for homebrewed spells
Make a copy of a spell, like Fireball, where it works, and see how they did it. I believe it's "additional points".
It should list number of dice next to the type of dice. Just alter that in the homebrew menu for the spell.
