Hi, I am trying to create a new homebrew pixie race for my campaign but one of the drawbacks I am making into the race is that is has a strength score of 1. (I am aware the dangers and complications It brings).
the problem is in DnD beyond I am trying to make it so that whatever you fill in at your strength score does not matter because it should be set to 1, sadly it is not working. does anyone know how to make it so that in character creation and on your character sheet you see that your strength score is 1 (-5) even if you filled in a 8 or something in your strength score? I've already tried to look at items like gauntlets of ogre power and fill it in exactly like that.
It’s not possible, whatever you “Set” it will always default to the higher score. The best you can do is give it a negative “Bonus,” but even that will cause problems depending on what they enter as their Strength score. My honest suggestion is to just give it a negative “Bonus” of -7 and let them have a Strength of whatever it’s gonna be. With a -7, most people will probably dump Str anyway, and even if they don’t the highest it’ll get will be 8 if they use either standard array or point buy and max it out. That’s still a negative modifier, and even if they dump ASIs into it they won’t get it much above 12, which would be ridiculous.
