Hello, I'm creating an Artificer for another npc in my campaign and wanted them to fight using exclusively potions. Does anyone know if its possible to remove spells that they know as a base. For instance, by level 3, the artificer class knows healing word and ray of sickness by defualt. I would like to remove both of these
This is from your Alchemist subclass. Make a homebrew copy and delete the Alchemist Spells feature.
Or, just, y'know, don't go in the spells tab and not cast them?

The Artificer base class isn’t what grants those spells, it’s specifically the Alchemist subclass that grants those. If you make a homebrew artificer subclass using the Alchemist as a template, you can remove all the subclass granted spells and use that altered copy of the subclass for your NPC. Alternatively you could just reflavor them as “potions.”
Appreciate this guys thanks. I'm running a campaign where there are several party's of dnd characters that they compete against throughout. Trying to clean up my character sheets best I can

Deleting that feature will only remove the table, not the spells. To remove the spells they would have to delete them from the Additional Specific Spells field under Basic Information for the whole subclass.

If you really want to make your life easier, don’t use character sheets for your NPCs. Convert them to monsters and use the statblocks, it simplifies everything so much.
