So, I have searched and searched but can't find an answer to this. I have a player who is running a Gunslinger (Mercer's archetype) and I have created the archetype on dndbeyond and now i'm trying to create the different weapons he has access to. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the Range Increment on a weapon. For instance the Palm Pistol should be 40/160, yet there's no way I have found to change it so when he looks at it in the character sheet it shows the correct range increment. Also, how do I change the base damage for a weapon?
not sure what you mean? When you make a homebrew weapon you have to choose a "base weapon" which then assigns damage dice, range, and a few other things to your custom weapon and as of right now I can't find a way to change the base weapon's range nor it's damage dice.
I may be late on this but hopefully this helps people out there. I made a Gunblade for one of my players, which functions as a longsword essentially but can shoot a force blast at range. The problem with adding the ranged property to the weapon is that you can't modify the ranges (it stays at 5ft/5ft) and it doesn't add the ranged attack option to the character sheet. As I don't see a fix to this yet, I recommend doing what I did for the time being. I went to Custom Actions on my player's sheet and added the ranged attack separately. It'll add the attack option for you to roll the dice and it can be modified to your liking.
I don't know why the creation tool is so difficult to begin with or why there hasn't been a fix for this yet but I hope this helps.

Why not just add them as homebrew items.
I know the post is a bit old but I also have run into this problem and am looking for a solution
Yeah, me too. I'm trying to build a lasso out of a net. All I have to do is change the range. Can't figure it out.
That function is currently not supported with the DDB homebrew generator. Please leave your request here so maybe they’ll finally get the hint.

Friend, it is late October in year 2021, I have bad news for your future...
But amazingly I'm also trying to make a lasso out of a net and need to change the range but cannot seem to 'get my rope around it'.. if you will.
That’s because it’s still not possible.

I noticed a Weapon Range Multiplier option in Homebrew. I did not play with it, but it may provide some options.
It doesn’t really.
