I've been trying to add stuff to my dnd campaign and one feat is supposed to let you deal damage with your fingers however you have to short rest before you can use it again however it isn't showing an attack at all just a stupid number thing were a pick number out of 10 and an apply and I have no idea how to make it so the thing I've been trying edit: it is showing an attack option but how do I get it to show a cooldown instead of the number picker , I've been able to get it to look like an attack but I want to make the short rest have red boxes the player presses instead of the number
I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but to have it display as an attack you want to add an Action button o the feat.
On the Action form you want to designate an ability score that it will use, to mark it as Proficient, and to designate the “attack range” as melee (it wouldn’t hurt to designate the “attack type” as unarmed). That will have it display as an attack with an attack bonus that can be rolled directly from the character sheet.
For the damage, set the “dice count” and “die type,” and if you want it to scale with Martial Arts check that box as well. That will make it display a damage roll they can roll from the character sheet and it will automatically include the ability score modifier used for the attack roll too.
To make it usable only once per short rest, first you have to designate the “reset type” as short rest and [SAVE] the action, then at the bottom there will be a new subform labeled “limited uses.” You can set the number there.
I think maybe the "number picker" mentioned is the where the sheet has to track a large quantity of limited uses. (I don't know where it switches from boxes to the +/- type display, but I think it's around 6ish.) Part of the problem could be that the OP accidentally entered 10 for the limited use data instead of 1.
