I have been very interested in homebrew monsters, spells, magic items, and so forth (who hasn't?), but I haven't been able to make vehicles. For example, I'm running Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus, and I'm the kind of DM who likes to make slight changes to the rules. That includes some of my own Infernal War Machines. I thought about using the monster stat block creator, but that doesn't work because you need Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma scores, and of course, it won't accept "0" as an answer, among other things. So mainly I was wondering if it's possible to create homebrew vehicles.
Homebrew vehicles sound unnecessary to me since we already have an item creator, which could be used to create vehicles, and a monster creator as well.

Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he will eat for a lifetime. Oh, and it would be nice if you gave him a fishing rod.

How would you solve this? I'm running GoS, and it would be nice to keep track of customized ships on the dndbeyond character sheet and encounter tracker.
as previously stated, so far you can't homebrew vehicle, the feature is planned, but it has been planned for a long time now (I think 2 year or so), so I rly wouldn't count on it. The best way is probably just to keep track of the change on a paper or something.
As long as you’re not too particular you can sortakinda fake it with monsters.
You know what? I never thought about this! Been trying to figure out how to make a Smalljammer for my players after reading the Spelljammer comics*. I've already created an Ur'Epona from 2E for my players to encounter and possibly tame out in the astral plane and didn't think about using homebrew monsters for vehicle stats, but it might work out with some tweaking.
With Spelljammer out now we need to be able to create our own ships more than ever. I wanted this for the sea but with spell jammer the possibilities are endless.
I agree! I havent' been play spelljammer, but I got really lucky with a roll on an artificer and created a chariot that can be hooked up to me steel defender to increase my movement speed just a tad bit(my character is in a wheel chair). And the chariot has the ability to fly and deal fire damage below it. It would really be nice to make a vehicle to keep track of rather than trying to make an item. Please make it possible to homebrew vehicles sooner than later! Thank you.
Any Updates on this? Being able to homebrew Vehicle's is kindof a must. My DM's let me redesign the Space Galleon for an Eberron based GoS and it would be really nice to port it over here. A battlemap builder would also be nice, other third party builders are nice but to consolidate the stats with the battlemap would be ideal.
I've also got plans to make Large Humanoid Bipedal One Manned vehicles, please let me homebrew them!
I tried with the monster creator and got pretty close. It would be nice if I could have zeroed out some of the stats and select 'vehicle' as a sub type.
I have not shared with the community or my DMD yet. Please let me know what you think? (also, not sure if I have to share with the community before anyone else can access the link?)
While we wait for a vehicle builder to be made (if one ever is made), I’ve found that you can pull up the closest vehicle to what you wanna make and then just inspect element and put in all the changes you wanna make that way, then take a screen capture of it. Not the best method ever but if you’re a stickler for formatting then it works well.

Good luck making this with either of those.

Please add vehicles to homebrew.
Idk, it should have some priority
