I have made a homebrew item. One of the characters has acquired it but has not spent any time with it yet or had it identified. I want to put it in his inventory but I dont want him to see the powers until it has been IDed or attuned. Is there a way to do that currently?

Nope. You could edit the item's description or make a copy of it and edit that one.
