I’m creating a weapon with an eldritch invocation and need help figuring out how to implement it into the stat sheet of the weapon. I’d prefer for the player to be able to choose which invocation if possible.
Are you planning to be running 2014 5e or 2024 5e?
For now, I'll assume you are planning to run 2024 5e :)
There are currently 28 different Eldritch Invocations listed under the Warlock Class Features. Some of these Eldritch Invocations have a prerequisite of the Warlock's Level or Certain Spells.
Are you planning to only have the Eldritch Invocations that are available as a part of the weapon, be the ones with no prerequisite, and if not, how are you handling the ones that the player does not meet?
Some of these are pretty simple to add as an option, but others grant abilities like the ability to cast a specific spell. I do not know of a way to have the properties of a Magic Item change based on a selection of a drop-down list, so for the Invocations that grant Spells or such, you would need to create a separate weapon for each one.
Can you give more info on what you are specifically thinking for how this weapon works?
Maybe others can chime in to help as well...
Cheers!

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
IIRC there's currently no way to homebrew selection of an Eldritch Invocation. However depending on what kind of effect you're going for there could be workarounds with feats.
For example the Misty Visions invocation is easily homebrewed by creating a feat that gives you at-will casting of silent image. (Use a magic initiate as a template to help you with that.)
And other things can be easily noted since they don't have on-sheet effects. So Eldritch Mind could easily be taken by just adding a note to the weapon of "Eldritch Mind: advantage on Concentration Saves."
