Heya D&D Beyond Folks, I am encountering an issue where I cannot create a spell that levels up with Character Level. Basically I would like the 1st Level Cure Wounds spell to scale up based on cantrip dice. So Cure Wounds at 5th deals 2d8, 11th 3d8 and 17th 4d8. This would be in lieu of the spell-level increasing method. When I add a home brew spell, mark it as level scaling, select the character level method, and add the increases to the bonus hp section, I get no effect. The spell when viewed on a high level character still shows merely 1d8 healing instead of the scaled up version like a cantrip. https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells/505892-cure-wounds-scale-by-character-level

Any help here would be amazing. 

Is it still set as a 1st level spell? That type of scaling only works for cantrips, you would need to change it to a cantrip for that to work.

... but.... what if I want it to not be that way really, really bad?

FYI, it works the way it does because that’s how the official spells work. So your beer and pizza is completing with a multimillion dollar contract that pays their salaries.... 🤔

They did get permission to open up the homebrewer restraints, that was another reason they needed the character sheet overhaul. It might work that way when that update happens. 🤷‍♂️
