I am trying to get this spell to scale with higher levels. I've read up on people having the same trouble before and followed the advice there. The thing is from level 2 to 4 there is no change, but once it hits 5th level slot it jumps to 5d6.
As this spell is based on Flaming Sphere, I've tried creating based on the spell and from scratch.
Your link doesn't resolve to a page that we can see so you'll need to provide some details another way; a screenshot of your "At Higher Levels" list would probably be best.
That said, the first thing you want to check is that your Higher Level Scaling Type is set to Spell Scale, this lets you specify a bonus that applies for each additional level at which the spell is cast (Spell Level is to apply different effects at specific spell levels).
In the At Higher Levels section you then only want a single entry, with the level set to 1 (for every additional level, if you set it to 2 it will scale for every additional 2 levels and so-on). Select your effect, additional points, and set the dice count to 1, and it should now add one additional dice per level.
Once done, Save Changes from the main spell page, and note that it can take up to 20 minutes before the changes to your spell will be applied (might not affect characters that have it right away).

I have it setup like that

At the bottom of “basic information” you have to switch the “higher level scaling type” from “Character Level” to “Spell Scale.”

It was already set to spell scale.
Can you please post a screenshot of the rest of the setup?
