I am new to using D&D Beyond, so please forgive any obvious questions.
I have some ideas for some homebrew items for my players. The items they will find (a rapier, bracers and a staff) are all homebrew items that will evolve as they gain levels and find the materials to improve them.
I want the players to see the initial items only when they reach a certain part of the campaign. is there any way to put them in now but keep them invisible to the players in my campaign until I am ready?
If you keep them out of “your collection” they won’t be shared. So “remove from collection” anything you don’t want them to see,. Then,, whenever you’re ready, go to “your creations,” find what you need, and “add to collection.”
You can do that whenever you like, so if you need something for, like, an NPC or something, you can pop it into your collection, add it to whatever, and then pop it back out again.
If everyone is using the website to run their characters, you can even pop it in during a session and then, when you want your players to find it tell them to refresh the browser tabs with their pages on them. Just make sure you give it at least 20 minutes after you add them before they refresh so the servers have time to catch up.
