Spell attack rolls are 1d20 + your Spellcasting Ability modifier + your character's proficiency bonus.
For a Wizard with a character level of 5, and if we assume your Int Mod is +3 this would be: 1d20 + 3 + 3 or 1d20 + 6.
Proficiency bonus, although detailed for convenience with each class, scales on character level not class level, as do cantrips. I think this is where you are getting confused.

I have level 2 Rogue and level 3 Wizard for a Character level of 5.
when casting spells the game sees a level 5 Wizard and displays rolls for a 5th level Wizard not a level 3 Wizard.
