Okay. Also, is Kylo Ren a Sith, or is he just an edgy teenager and Vader's Greatest Fan?
the only good character in episodes 7-9
Untrue. What about when Wedge Antilles shows up? He's undisputably awesome. Also, Poe Dameron. He has a whole 25-ish issue comic series full of awesomeness.
Okay wedge is super brief, but agreeably good. Poe is a decent character but I didn't like any of his development in episode 9. The plot in that movie is really rushed and all over the place, and they just needed him to be a smuggler to have smuggler friends and basically save everyone. I will say episode 7 is the best of the new trilogy, as Poe and Finn were decent in that movie, but their development never goes far, really at all. Poe is a good actor, but not anything special with the character. nothing stands out in the acting or writing as phenomenal, but he's not bad (especially compared to rose and rey). I will admit I've never read the comics, never really got into star wars comics, so I can't offer a perspective on that. I'm mainly talking about movies. But I have heard great things about the comics in general, especially Vader. Again, poe is cool, he's just nothing special, and the movies aren't good enough for a few character to make enough difference. Kind of cheesing when I say he's the only good character, I know I come across as a critic, I just happen to like good movies. I don't mean that there's nothing good about them, but Ren is one of the better parts in not great films
I agree that Kylo Ren was one of the better characters. So was Hux, in my opinion. He was the sniveling brat of the First Order but if you read his backstory in Star Wars: Aftermath it really explains a lot.

Hi, I am not a chest. I deny with 100% certainty that I am a chest. I can neither confirm nor deny what I am beyond that.
I used to portray Krathian, Q'ilbrith, Jim, Tara, Turin, Nathan, Tench, Finn, Alvin, and other characters in various taverns.

I wish that Poe and Finn could have fallen in love. There wasn't much romance in the sequels, apart from the weirdness of Rey and Ben.
There isn´t a whole lot of romance in star wars to begin with, but I get youre point

Hux was good until they made him a traitor. I actually like him as a first order leader. very reminiscent of Nazi germany and all that, which I think is what it's supposed to do, especially in that scene with the speech and the big first order banners. That digitally was altered from a photo of a third reich rally, which I thought was cool in a star wars villain. So yes, I like Hux, but him being a traitor made absolutely no sense. I mean what, like, he just suddenly has been working for them the whole time? there's nothing in 7 or 8 that fits with that plot. It's weird.
Okay. Also, is Kylo Ren a Sith, or is he just an edgy teenager and Vader's Greatest Fan?

I did like Finn too, at least in the first movie, but I liked him enough to wish he got more development. I'm assuming no one here is an avid Rose fan (if you are please no), but I feel like she kind of ruined Finn. He does have some cool backstory stuff if you look into it, and I really like the whole stormtrooper turned idea. I like star wars. Not sure how I feel about Disney

I think I actually have heard good things about cobalt squadron. I'll have to read it. A lot of episodes 7-9 wasn't great, but then I also hear a lot of good things about books and comics. Aside from boba fett what other project are we expecting from star wars in the next few years? I know they have a lot of work on the MCU but star wars hasn't seen much since mandalorian, so I'm curious
I vaguely remember Cobalt Squadron, but it was years ago. Was that the one where they used the StarFortress bomber for a supply drop? Also, has anyone else read Aftermath? I didn't like it all that much except for Hux's origin.
I actually own cobalt squadron, but I haven't read aftermath
I've read both. Aftermath was the adult novel in the journey to force awakens publishing line, cobalt squadron was the YR for Journey to the last jedi.
I know
Off topic, anyone ever read the Republic Commando novels by Karen traviss?
No, but republic commandos are cool
FOR THE LOVE OF CORUSCANT WHY DON'T WE HAVE COMMANDOS IN SOME KIND OF VISUAL MEDIA AT THIS POINT?!?!?! THEY GET LIKE 2 SECONDS IN THE CLONE WARS SHOW AND THAT'S IT! GIVE ME SOMETHING LUCASFILM! I NEED TO WATCH OMEGA SQUAD KILL PEOPLE IN HD!!!!!!

I also do homebrew, check out my Spells and Magic Items

Kylo was fine but a little bland, but his lightsaber was cool

Hux was good until they made him a traitor. I actually like him as a first order leader. very reminiscent of Nazi germany and all that, which I think is what it's supposed to do, especially in that scene with the speech and the big first order banners. That digitally was altered from a photo of a third reich rally, which I thought was cool in a star wars villain. So yes, I like Hux, but him being a traitor made absolutely no sense. I mean what, like, he just suddenly has been working for them the whole time? there's nothing in 7 or 8 that fits with that plot. It's weird.

It kind of feels like the movies weren't that good, so they sort of worked a better version into the books and comics expanded universe stuff
