"my name isnt actually wannabe. Its Leon. I got the nickname from a old friend" he said
"Ok leon, good to know." He thinks for a second:"Want to know how I got my name?"
"Sure" he said and bit into his toast
"Ok, well for a little context I'm an orphan, I never met my parents, they threw me away when they saw I was a tiefling. After 10ish years in the foster system I ran away." He pauses for a second:"The person that would eventually become my adopted father found me eating roadkill on the side of the road, I was that hungry. So he took me in and named me carrion and eventually trained me into what I am today. ¨
*me now knowing what carrion is due to google def*
"Huh, so cute and clever" he said and chuckled

"My apologies miss, I forgot meself. I meant no offense. Can I get ye anything?"
The woman sighed, leaning back in the chair. "No."
Emeline finished cleaning the last bit of the armor. "We cleaned your armor and weapons for you."
"Ok."
"Ummm, could you tell us your name?"
*I don't think that posted right, there's nothing there...*
*I thought you missed it, so I just quoted it and posted. My bad.*
"... Kari Youngsteam."
"Well, Kari, I'm Emeline Crowstone of House Crowstone. Call me Emily." She looked over at Tench, waiting for him to introduce himself.
*Ah, ok, sorry, I can be oblivious at times.*
Tench stared off into space for a minute before realizing what was going on. "Oh, yes," he stands and bows, "Tench Mc'Cleaver, at yer service, notorious pirate and captain of the late Spearhead."
The woman looked at Tench more closely. "I can't say I've heard of you."
Emeline coughed. "Well, I'm going to get something to drink. Your armor is right here, Tench has your weapons. Goodbye!"
"Not many people have," said Tench, "Usually their ship sinks, and they're too embarrassed to admit that they were sunk by a seemingly unseaworthy brigantine. Thus, they cite other causes, such as an uncontrollable storm off of Chult. Still, Kari, I can certainly say I haven't heard of you. What noble soul did you serve before collapsing here in the Backbone?"
She looked down. "The former king of the kingdom Storm on the coast, King Jerule. I was the captain of his royal guard. I was also known as The Valkyrie by the citizens of Storm."
Tench whistles, "The Valkryie, that's quite a title! Where is Storm on the coast, exactly? I don't believe I've ever been there, or youd've heard of me, and I most certainly would have heard of Kari 'The Valkyrie Youngsteam. Also, my deepest condolences on your loss. Judging from the sheer quantity of arrows that were stuck in ye, I doubt you could've done much to prevent King Jerule's death."
"Storm is on the farthest east coast, right below some bigger coastal kingdoms. We are called Storm because there is almost always some type of storm going on. As for what I could've done, I could have done a lot."
"Ah, yes, would one of those bigger coastal kingdoms be Waterdeep?"

"Storm is on the farthest east coast, right below some bigger coastal kingdoms. We are called Storm because there is almost always some type of storm going on. As for what I could've done, I could have done a lot."
"Ah, yes, would one of those bigger coastal kingdoms be Waterdeep?"
"I think so, the name sounds familiar." She starts putting her armor back on.
"Well that explains why I haven't heard of you, all save one of my closest friends drowned in Waterdeep Harbor, due to my hubris. You're not the only one who makes a mistake. Did you personally stab your king?"
"No, but I might as well have." She held out her hands for her sword and shield.
"Are you out of your mind? Are you saying that it wouldn't matter to you whether whatever killed your king did or you did because you failed to prevent it? The way I see it, you have two options. If you can make peace with what happened then, by all means, sit here with us at the Backbone and recuperate, but if you feel like you need to make up for what happened, get your plate mail self out the door and make those bastards pay for what they did. I'm happy ta help ya whatever ya decide." Tench puts down his tankard and gets up. "Only you can make that decision," he says.
She stared at him, looking angry again. "I already killed the ones who killed my king. Now, give me my sword and shield."
*Whoops, I missed that she asked for them earlier, lol sorry*
"Happily," he says, handing them to her, "I apologize fer me harshness o' word. Ye prolly think me a bastard, by now, and ye're prolly not wrong." He takes a swig of his drink.
*It's alright, I actually like that he ignored it earlier and went on that rant, stuff like that makes this feel much more realistic.*
She puts her shield on her right arm and sheathes the sword between it and her arm. "I can tell from the way you talk you don't really think about what you say."
"That be true, ma'am, that way ye can have no doubt in yer mind who or what I am. An' in that spirit I have one last thing ta say, I see clearly that the deaths of those orcs were not worth the death of your king. You are not satisfied, and so go and satisfy yourself. Ask yourself what your king would be willing ta sacrifice his life fer, and bring that bittersweet good about. If I were ye, an' I felt so responsible fer his death, that's what I'd do. However, and I cannot stress this enough, it was not yer fault unless ye had any intent in yer heart ta bring him harm. As I said, everybody makes dumb mistakes. At leas' yours wasn't sendin' six ships full o' trusted friends ta their deaths for some perceived glory and power."

The woman looked at Tench more closely. "I can't say I've heard of you."

If you were me, you wouldn't be thinking the things you just told me, you would be thinking what I'm thinking." She sat back down, still tired, and sighed. "I won't pretend to understand where you're coming from, so don't pretend to understand where I'm coming from."

Hi, I am not a chest. I deny with 100% certainty that I am a chest. I can neither confirm nor deny what I am beyond that.

"I had one duty, and I failed in that duty, and it costed so much more than the life of my king. It costed the life of my father, the lives of my brothers and sisters, the father and husband of a family that will be waiting for him forever, it costed the hope of hundreds of people, it costed so much more than any stranger could think of. I don't deserve to satisfy my rage, even if I could, I don't deserve to 'bring that bittersweet good' about, I don't deserve to go back to Storm, to home, and tell everyone that their king and families won't be coming back. If you were me, you wouldn't be thinking the things you just told me, you would be thinking what I'm thinking." She sat back down, still tired, and sighed. "I won't pretend to understand where you're coming from, so don't pretend to understand where I'm coming from."
"Very well, then, I'll leave ye to ye're thoughts."
*Is Emmeline at the bar, or did she leave?*
*At the bar.*
"Bye."
"I was wrong," he says to Emmeline, "She reminds me of no one." he bangs his head on the counter twice, before saying "I swear I thought I could help her, I was so dreadfully wrong. She seems so focused on what she doesn't deserve. I just hope she doesn't try to avenge the death of her king with her own death..."
"On second thought, she does remind me of my brother, all too much."

Hi, I am not a chest. I deny with 100% certainty that I am a chest. I can neither confirm nor deny what I am beyond that.
I used to portray Krathian, Q'ilbrith, Jim, Tara, Turin, Nathan, Tench, Finn, Alvin, and other characters in various taverns.
*Um, yes. 0verkill introduced a new character (Kari “The Valkyrie” Youngsteam) who had “caused” the death of her king. Tench tried to talk her out of her grief or into some form of revenge and failed. Tbh, he was kinda being a jerk, but he had good intentions. A huge fight broke out, and Tench revealed that Kari reminded him of his brother, which didn’t seem to be good *
