Krathian is sitting at the Tavern with a giant map of Waterdeep's defenses
*Wait, Krathian is in The Backbone?!*
*you hear me laughing over here for the insuring chaos*
*Hehe, no I meant Tench. Sorry...*
*Lol, it's cool.*
Casmir strides up next to him. "What'chu lookin at, Captian Tench?"
"Invasion plans," he says simply, taking a swig of his rum
"Cool! What for? That sounds stupid, let me rephrase that. What are you invading, and what is your target, also, couldIjoin?" He said the last part quickly, sounding a tiny bit nervous.
"First stop on th' tour of the Macleaver's Revenge, Waterdeep. Me old crew was slaughtered there several years ago, I want payback." he swigs his rum again. "Didje know that the city was founded by pirates, well it'll belong ta pirates once again. If ye want t' join the crew, just say the word."
He seemed very interested at the city being founded by pirates fact, then did a double take. "Wait, what, you'll let me join just like that?"
"If ye turn out not ta be trustworthy, I have plenty o' trustworthy crewmates who'd sooner shoot ye down than join yer antics." He takes another draught "I'm not worried, if ye turn out ta be trustworthy an' valuable, then I gain a trustworthy an' valuable crew member." he sets down his bottle. "Point is, fer me it's a win-win."
"Well, in that case..." He straightens up a bit. "What's first, Captain?"
"Go talk to Alvin on deck, he'll assign you quarters and duties. Unless, of course, you have any specialties you'd like to tell me personally about."
"Well, other than being able to fly, I'm a bit of a jack of all trades, at least combat-wise. I'm a decent marksman with my crossbow, I'm good at close quarters with my double bladed scimitar, and I'm pretty accurate with my whip. I mostly prefer flying above to rain bolts down on what needs killing, but if I need to, I can also make use of my wings on the ground in close quarters. My eyesight is really sharp, which is why I prefer range over everything else."
"Excellent. Sounds like we'll probably need you in raids more than anything, other than that I imagine Alvin will want you working in the 'nest."
"Aye-aye, Captain." Casmir takes off at a jog outside to the ship, where he spreads his wings and flies onto the deck. "Hello, I'm supposed to talk to Alvin?" He calls out.
*I just had an Idea, I'll PM it, if that's alright with you.*
*Go right ahead my man. Need a description of Alvin?*
*Sure!*
*Ok he's a dour-looking duergar with a warhammer and a shield with a black insignia painted on it. (Skull in profile facing left with a lightning bolt through it.) which is also the flag of the MacCleaver's Revenge. He wears baggy breeches and a shirt lined with pockets. He is Tench's first mate.*
*Cool!*
Casmir wanders around on the deck a bit, looking for Alvin.
Alvin's on the forecastle, directing the crew's maintenance of the ship. He sees Casmir, "You there! What business d'ye have with the pirates of Deepwater Harbor?"
He did a little bow. "I'm Casmir, and I have come to join you! I have already spoken with Captain Teanch, and he told me to come see one name Alvin."
"That be me." Alvin looks at Casmir skeptically and mutters something about the captain collecting lost causes. "So ye want to join eh? Ye any good on th' ropes, any sailing experience?"
*He hasn't noticed Casmir's wings yet*
He spread is wings wide, looking quite prideful of them. "I talked to Captian Tench about my skills. He said you would probably want me in the nest." Casmir recounted is skills he told Tench to Alvin.
Alvin raises his eyebrows, looking slightly impressed. "We don't really have anyone better in th' nest for now, I suppose you'll work well there. Until we launch the tour, the crew is officially on leave, unless..."
"Unless?" Casmir folded his wings back.
"Well we have a supply drop in an abandoned keep a couple miles west of here, we were planning on getting it later but if you want to get an early start I have no objections." He tosses Casmir a bag of holding.
"Understood!" He eagerly jumps off the ship, spreading his wings and flying west.
After several hours he sees an old keep on a hill far below him. It's south and east walls have crumbled, leaving the rest of the crenelated stone covered in moss.
He glides down to in front of the entrance, looking around just to be safe. An old, abandoned building is almost never safe to just walk in.
Perception, just in case:24
He sees a fountain in the middle of the green, stacked around it are crates marked with the MacCleaver coat of arms (The aforementioned skull symbol) and the word "Revenge" in elvish. Something seems... off about them, but Casmir can't tell what.
He walks over to them, getting a closer look at them. He decides to stretch the opening of the bag of holding to see if he could fit the crates in it.
Nope, he'd have to unload them. Luckily, one's lid opens for him when he tries to stretch the bag over it. It even has teeth for opening the packaging! Wait a minute...

*Cool!*

None of the other crates are mimics. It appears that the one mimic saw the crates sitting there and thought it had found friends or food. It didn't matter to the mimic especially because there wasn't a difference to it.
