Atemos paused. "I might have some better options.." He summons two staffs, one in each hand. The left one is made of soft wood, shimmering in the light and covered in carvings of some kind of unidentifiable creature with long ears, kind of resembling a rabbit. "This one heals pretty well. I found it in another demon lord's hoard." The right one is made of a thick, dark oak wood, nice and sturdy. It's cold to the touch. There are multiple runes carved into it, and the top is hooked like a perch. "This one's good for defense. But only if you're a wizard. Trust me, I tried."

"Could you hand them.to me for a few minutes? Ill maybe need 20 for both. Also.. Whats the rabbit creature?"

Atemos nodded and handed them over. "Not sure. Looks kinda weird though. If you get bored or curious, you could always do Dream of the Blue Veil on it and maybe ask a native or something."

"Very true... Id just need a scroll" Identify ritual cast 2x

The first is a Staff of Healing and the second is a Staff of Defense because cyno is too lazy to make two new staffs at the moment.

She hands him back the staff of healing "Theyre both very interesting... That one, however, requires a spell I dont know to attune to."

"What spell is it? I can try to get a scroll or something for you."

She shakes her head "I couldnt cast it even if I had a scroll. Animal Friendship isnt a wizard spell"

Soldaer perks up at that. "If you want, I could train you in the basics of being a ranger or Druid, E. I believe being either of those will allow you to learn the necessary spell."

She smiles a bit "Thatd certainly be something interesting to try..."

Soldaer smiles at E's response. "Let me know if you want to try it, and which you want to try, when we get back to the Tavern. We can stay in the woods for either training."

I think it first started manifesting on one of my trips to the Feywild during my training as a ranger, but it was only very simple at the time; emotions, images, sometimes a direct thought. Eventually it started to grow in strength, and I think it came to full fruition when I was visited by Eilistraee. I will say this: it is by far one of the most useful gifts I have, especially when I need to keep something secret, or among a small group of people."

She nods "Telepathy is always very useful... How large is your range on it?"

"About average for most people. I haven't tried it past 100 ft, but I'd guess it can go a little further. The only exception to that that I've found is with Shade, but she's bonded to me with some unique magic."

He switches from verbal to voiceless telepathy himself. It was rather...interesting and definitely challenging to learn voiceless telepathy, but rather fun.

He further switches telepathy types, and shows them a brief glimpse into his past, specifically his first meeting with Shade and the battle with the Yeth Hounds.

Another fun use for telepathy, he says voicelessly, a smile on his face.

(I actually.... Cant have my telepathy with a voice. The voicelessness is an innate part of it. That memory sharung thing has always been cool, though) *What feature does he have for voiceless telepathy?*

How interesting. I don't think I've met someone who has only voiceless telepathy, aside from a rather odd mind flayer I met in one of the larger cities.

*Nothing in particular actually, aside from years of practice and experimentation, and a bit of tutelage from other people who have voiceless telepathy.*

*Perfect! May even be able to do that encounter to get her to 13 if we want.*

"Yeah, I'm aware. I believe Timber had an encounter with a Displacer Beast while playing soccer, so I'm aware of the dangers. I'm a druid though, and a skilled ranger, so I'm not too worried honestly."

I have a dragon's hoard worth of money to spend, so let's burn some of it, by NOT SHOPPING SOMEWHERE CHEAP!" He's still got a broad smile on his face, but you can tell he's a little annoyed at the same time.

I think it first started manifesting on one of my trips to the Feywild during my training as a ranger, but it was only very simple at the time; emotions, images, sometimes a direct thought. Eventually it started to grow in strength, and I think it came to full fruition when I was visited by Eilistraee. I will say this: it is by far one of the most useful gifts I have, especially when I need to keep something secret, or among a small group of people."

She nods "Telepathy is always very useful... How large is your range on it?"

"About average for most people. I haven't tried it past 100 ft, but I'd guess it can go a little further. The only exception to that that I've found is with Shade, but she's bonded to me with some unique magic."

E nods "That makes sense. Theres usually always exceptions to a range..."

Soldaer smiles. "Very true."

"I wonder... Whats the strangest form of telepathy you know of?" (Theres many kinds out there...) Es voiceless telepathy speaks to both him and Atemos

He further switches telepathy types, and shows them a brief glimpse into his past, specifically his first meeting with Shade and the battle with the Yeth Hounds.

Another fun use for telepathy, he says voicelessly, a smile on his face.

The left one is made of soft wood, shimmering in the light and covered in carvings of some kind of unidentifiable creature with long ears, kind of resembling a rabbit. "This one heals pretty well. I found it in another demon lord's hoard." The right one is made of a thick, dark oak wood, nice and sturdy. It's cold to the touch. There are multiple runes carved into it, and the top is hooked like a perch. "This one's good for defense. But only if you're a wizard. Trust me, I tried."

"Could you hand them.to me for a few minutes? Ill maybe need 20 for both. Also.. Whats the rabbit creature?"

Atemos nodded and handed them over. "Not sure. Looks kinda weird though. If you get bored or curious, you could always do Dream of the Blue Veil on it and maybe ask a native or something."

"Very true... Id just need a scroll" Identify ritual cast 2x

The first is a Staff of Healing and the second is a Staff of Defense because cyno is too lazy to make two new staffs at the moment.

She hands him back the staff of healing "Theyre both very interesting... That one, however, requires a spell I dont know to attune to."

"What spell is it? I can try to get a scroll or something for you."

She shakes her head "I couldnt cast it even if I had a scroll. Animal Friendship isnt a wizard spell"

Soldaer perks up at that. "If you want, I could train you in the basics of being a ranger or Druid, E. I believe being either of those will allow you to learn the necessary spell."

She smiles a bit "Thatd certainly be something interesting to try..."

Soldaer smiles at E's response. "Let me know if you want to try it, and which you want to try, when we get back to the Tavern. We can stay in the woods for either training."

"Alright. But fair warning, those woods can be a bit strange" *This actually works pretty well. E is lv 12, but I havent actually given her the feat gor that lv yet... So she can take magic initiate*

*Perfect! May even be able to do that encounter to get her to 13 if we want.*

"Yeah, I'm aware. I believe Timber had an encounter with a Displacer Beast while playing soccer, so I'm aware of the dangers. I'm a druid though, and a skilled ranger, so I'm not too worried honestly."

"A displacer beast? Not at all what I mean. Theres something much more purely odd in there. Something magical, and just.... Mysterious"

"How...interesting. I'll have to spend some more times in there myself to figure out what exactly you mean."

I think it first started manifesting on one of my trips to the Feywild during my training as a ranger, but it was only very simple at the time; emotions, images, sometimes a direct thought. Eventually it started to grow in strength, and I think it came to full fruition when I was visited by Eilistraee. I will say this: it is by far one of the most useful gifts I have, especially when I need to keep something secret, or among a small group of people."

"About average for most people. I haven't tried it past 100 ft, but I'd guess it can go a little further. The only exception to that that I've found is with Shade, but she's bonded to me with some unique magic."

He switches from verbal to voiceless telepathy himself. It was rather...interesting and definitely challenging to learn voiceless telepathy, but rather fun.

He further switches telepathy types, and shows them a brief glimpse into his past, specifically his first meeting with Shade and the battle with the Yeth Hounds.

Another fun use for telepathy, he says voicelessly, a smile on his face.

I found it in another demon lord's hoard." The right one is made of a thick, dark oak wood, nice and sturdy. It's cold to the touch. There are multiple runes carved into it, and the top is hooked like a perch. "This one's good for defense. But only if you're a wizard. Trust me, I tried."

"Could you hand them.to me for a few minutes? Ill maybe need 20 for both. Also.. Whats the rabbit creature?"

Atemos nodded and handed them over. "Not sure. Looks kinda weird though. If you get bored or curious, you could always do Dream of the Blue Veil on it and maybe ask a native or something."

"Very true... Id just need a scroll" Identify ritual cast 2x

The first is a Staff of Healing and the second is a Staff of Defense because cyno is too lazy to make two new staffs at the moment.

She hands him back the staff of healing "Theyre both very interesting... That one, however, requires a spell I dont know to attune to."

"What spell is it? I can try to get a scroll or something for you."

She shakes her head "I couldnt cast it even if I had a scroll. Animal Friendship isnt a wizard spell"

Soldaer perks up at that. "If you want, I could train you in the basics of being a ranger or Druid, E. I believe being either of those will allow you to learn the necessary spell."

She smiles a bit "Thatd certainly be something interesting to try..."

Soldaer smiles at E's response. "Let me know if you want to try it, and which you want to try, when we get back to the Tavern. We can stay in the woods for either training."

"Alright. But fair warning, those woods can be a bit strange" *This actually works pretty well. E is lv 12, but I havent actually given her the feat gor that lv yet... So she can take magic initiate*

*Perfect! May even be able to do that encounter to get her to 13 if we want.*

"Yeah, I'm aware. I believe Timber had an encounter with a Displacer Beast while playing soccer, so I'm aware of the dangers. I'm a druid though, and a skilled ranger, so I'm not too worried honestly."

"A displacer beast? Not at all what I mean. Theres something much more purely odd in there. Something magical, and just.... Mysterious"

"How...interesting. I'll have to spend some more times in there myself to figure out what exactly you mean."

She shakes her head "I couldnt cast it even if I had a scroll. Animal Friendship isnt a wizard spell"

Soldaer perks up at that. "If you want, I could train you in the basics of being a ranger or Druid, E. I believe being either of those will allow you to learn the necessary spell."

She smiles a bit "Thatd certainly be something interesting to try..."

Soldaer smiles at E's response. "Let me know if you want to try it, and which you want to try, when we get back to the Tavern. We can stay in the woods for either training."

"Alright. But fair warning, those woods can be a bit strange" *This actually works pretty well. E is lv 12, but I havent actually given her the feat gor that lv yet... So she can take magic initiate*

*Perfect! May even be able to do that encounter to get her to 13 if we want.*

"Yeah, I'm aware. I believe Timber had an encounter with a Displacer Beast while playing soccer, so I'm aware of the dangers. I'm a druid though, and a skilled ranger, so I'm not too worried honestly."

"A displacer beast? Not at all what I mean. Theres something much more purely odd in there. Something magical, and just.... Mysterious"

"How...interesting. I'll have to spend some more times in there myself to figure out what exactly you mean."

He switches from verbal to voiceless telepathy himself. It was rather...interesting and definitely challenging to learn voiceless telepathy, but rather fun.

He further switches telepathy types, and shows them a brief glimpse into his past, specifically his first meeting with Shade and the battle with the Yeth Hounds.

Another fun use for telepathy, he says voicelessly, a smile on his face.

I knew what you meant. The Illithid was just the only one I met who had only voiceless telepathy, but I've met a few who had both. One of them was the one who helped me better learn how to converse this way, but you're right: most were rather... unsavory.

I'm going to guess then that voiceless telepathy is preferred by assassins and the like, correct? Or even worse?
