Entropy is a world of wonder and chaos. On one side of the continent lies the immense mountain range known as the Colossi- made from the bodies of petrified giants. On the other is a vast wall of nothingness known as the End of the World, cutting off the land and sea in a perfect line. Spaced throughout Entropy are other strange and mystical locales, such as the kingdom of Variance, made up of goliaths, humans, and gnomes; the Whistling Plains, where each blade of grass stands a half-mile high, and Delirium, an illusory paradise that’s truly a barren wasteland. While Entropy may be whimsical at times, it also contains hidden dangers- and some pretty decent taverns. The Tavern at the End of the World, as its name might suggest, sits a mere hundred feet from the void that slices off the continent. The majority of their customers are travelers who emerge from the portals that occasionally appear in the wall of abyss, and they have plenty of rooms prepared for the weary. However, the staff of the tavern is quite unusual. The bartender takes the form of a skeletal wraith clad in grey robes, a wreath of flame covering their head, while the barmaid is a tiefling with golden skin, a rarity even in a place as diverse as Entropy.

This tavern is a neutral ground for everyone to rp in. As we are on DnDBeyond, we use the 5e system when it comes to spells, contests, etc. While a character sheet or statbock is not required, it is highly recommended, and you should at least have an idea of your character's ability scores. Please read the rules below before introducing a character

Rules:

1. No fighting inside the tavern and please keep arguing to a minimum.

2. If anyone wishes to have an encounter, PM (private message) the mods the encounter details and we’ll let you know if it's a go
2a) HB- The lore of your world doesn't affect other tavern residents without their consent. While you're encouraged to interact with other characters, you cannot force them to accept any lore your world might have as part of their character
2b) If you join an encounter with a character that includes homebrew, you must let the DM of the encounter know. They have the right to review any HB on the character. Please respect the power cap the DM sets in the encounter. DMs, keep in mind CR and character levels are not equal in power.
2c) Players have the choice between allowing their characters to be resurrected during an encounter (or PVP) or letting their character die permanently. Unless requested otherwise, the characters would standardly be resurrected and teleported back to their tavern rooms. The only exception is if the DM of the encounter says that its permadeath. They must say this at the beginning of the encounter
2d) PVP and PVE- Before combat starts, it must have the consent of all involved players. If you are forced into an encounter or fight without consent, then you may drop out without excuse. If this persists, please contact a mod. Initiative must be rolled, or the players can agree on a set turn order.

3. No swearing. You may substitute it with [1 GP], but not substitute words.

4. Listen to the mods (Cyno, Chris, TTB)

5. Be nice and patient with people who just join and help them out if they need it

6. You are allowed to have as many characters as you’d like, but you can only have three active at any given moment.

7.  Each character’s room has its own protective spell. You cannot enter, or scry into, someone else's room without player consent. This includes teleportation and other magical attempts.

8. A character’s telepathy cannot be severed/interrupted/manipulated without the player's permission. 

9. Respect one another

10. If an argument can't be resolved peacefully, or a problem is getting out of hand such as power abuse or metagaming, please contact a mod to handle it. 

11. Please put the word waffles or fire in your first post. This is a simple way to check that the rules have actually been read. Note that when a rule change occurs, these words may be subject to change

12. Don’t threaten each other. If a player is not willing to follow through with an action that includes his/her character then please respect their wishes.

13.  Please keep things appropriate and go easy on any gorey details or any brutal actions. This also includes 18+ scenes or content (Fade to black/suggestive scenarios). We are not aware of the age of thread participants or how comfortable they are with it, so please keep things down and be mindful of these kinds of things. If you and other players would like to do things like this, please take it to a PM

14. Please go easy on quote chains for ease of mobile users. If someone has very long chains, please let them know in a respectful way.

15. Please dont advertise other threads(or much else) here. You can mention something new you make once or twice, but please dont try to start conversations and things about other threads, such as asking about other thread's characters. In addition, if you have a character from another thread on here, please make this one a different 'version'/'timeline'/'instance' of that character. We don't want to have to force people to keep up with more than thread to understand whats going on with characters here. Easy level of entry thing :).

16. Have fun!

The tavern is 100 feet from the end of the world. Being close to the end of the world causes a balance to be held. This balance is between things such as life, death and destruction. This causes all damage done within 150 feet of the end to be negated (100 feet from the tavern on the end side of the tavern, 50 feet on the far side). This reduction is not cancelled by any effect that prevents damage from being reduced, such as Life Transference This effect cannot be dispelled by any means. 

The tavern is about 5 miles from a mountain range to its East (directly opposite the direction to the end of the world), and 25 miles from an ocean to the South. The area is mostly comprised of mountainous foothills, with plenty of shrubs and trees scattered around. There's also a garden nearby.
