The outer ring, from the edge of those buildings to the wall, is filled with a more gruesome landscape. Buildings in ruins, completely destroyed or heavily damaged, some places seeming to have stains from blood. A deadland that looks like it was burned, blown up, and magically attacked.E stands next to him, looking over the scene somber

He flies in, holding a wooden knife with multiple gems ingrained

She walks through a certain spot in the void wall
Soldaer stops momentarily before shrugging and following E through.
He walks through a hidden portal, finding himself outside what would look like the gates of a large city. However, inside only around half the city seems built, the inner core full of buildings made out of lustrous black and white stone. The outer ring, from the edge of those buildings to the wall, is filled with a more gruesome landscape. Buildings in ruins, completely destroyed or heavily damaged, some places seeming to have stains from blood. A deadland that looks like it was burned, blown up, and magically attacked.E stands next to him, looking over the scene somber
What happened here, E? Soldaer asks, obviously shocked.

Then.... The current lord of the city died of old age. The next in line was his son, Joshua. 'Lord' Joshua was a greedy scumbag. He made the city unlivable for anyone not noble. The taxes were unpayable, the property unaffordable, and anyone who spoke against him, r anyone he saw as a threat to his power would be publicly executed. And that doesnt even start on his scandals...

I.. was born on these streets. Under his rule, to a single mother. And not technically noble

I... Me and my brother eventually lost our mother to sickness. I was 7 at the time... Thats when we had to start surviving on our own. And when I started teaching myself magic. We.... Considering her mother was apparently single... Its strange that the aunt would be on the fathers side. And that theyd own property despite it being so expensive...

I expected to find a terrifying executioner, famous for their cruelty and working with Joshua..... Instead, I found a goofy, naive changeling who happened to work as executioner

She nods I found a good friend in Nox. He helped me get Kalnr to a safehouse, then... We started planning
I think I know what you were planning, or I at least have a few different ideas.

Soldaer sighs. Not all knives are yours, Roffigirrte. Would you try and take my knives? Soldaer asks, as he reaches into the extradimensional space within his left bracer and withdraws a dagger that seems to be made out of some massive tooth. The blade is nearly a foot and a half long, and has hundreds of tiny serrations on its back edge. A wood and leather wrapped handle, and a large emerald set into the pommel completes the dagger.
Interesting. How'd it work out?

No, Roffigirrte. This one is mine. I crafted it myself from the tooth of the green dragon whose head decorates my wall. He quickly slips the dagger back into its hidden extradimensioanl sheath.

I...I can't imagine......His voice trails off, and he can't seem to find the words, so he sitches to an even more rudimentary telepathy, and just lets her see his bared emotions. Sorrow, a bit of anger, sympathy, and affection all swirl around in equal parts, in Soldaer's mind.

If the knives stay in a collection, unused, and improperly cared for, they may rust, get damaged, and broken. Besides, knives and daggers are tools and meant to be used.
