*Also, this seems like the perfect time to introduce a couple new characters, so here we go!*
As Soldaer is speaking, a pair of brilliant beams of light strike the ground about 100 feet to the side of this whole commotion. As soon as the beams disappear, two figures are left behind in their place, and it's obvious they are brothers.
Both have reddish-blonde hair, and brilliant blue eyes, and similar feature in general, although the younger of the two is much taller and more muscular than the older.
The younger brother is clad in ornate splint mail, colored cobalt and silver, with a rather heavy-looking, wing-styled shield to match. On his back is a pair of javelins, and he has a longsword on his left hip.
The older brother, while shorter, has a quiet kind of power around him. Wearing tan robes embellished with gold edges and silver and mithral symbols seemingly stitched into the fabric. In his right hand, he holds a gem-tipped rod that you can tell holds quite a bit of power. On his back, in a special sheath, is a staff with a similar gem in the top. The staff almost seems to have grown around the gemstone. On his hips there's a scroll case and book.
As the light from the beams is about to completely disappear, it flares temporarily, and a pair of brilliant angelic wings appear behind each of them.
*Man..... your character intros are awesome*
*Thank you. I'm working on them, and descriptions, because I'm working on a Homebrew Campaign setting, as well as several campaigns specifically for it.*
The younger one, who you can assume is a paladin of some sort, turns to his brother. "Now where in the blazes did you teleport us too?"
A younger human, which one can asume is a pirate, looks out the door at them
She notices a large burst of flame appear just above the ground, about 100 feet away from the tavern.
She walks to the edge of the safe area, looking around for anything else that could have caused it
A figure steps out of the flames. He looks like a tiefling with pointed ears and jagged horns, a pair of wide wings sprouting from his back. He wears gold and black armor, and an onyx blade with the edge colored a scarlet hue hangs at his waist. His red skin is covered in blazing patterns that have a small sort of symmetry, and his eyes burn with orange flame. A confident smirk touches his face as he steps onto the ground.
"Hello, there. Welcome to the tavern. Who are you?"
"You've never heard of me, elf? I guess one like you wouldn't have."
Soldaer hears the commotion (a least the burst of flames) and walks out the door to investigate with Shade at his side, hands resting easily on the hilts of his rapier and shortsword.
Xorius glances over at him. "Don't try to fight me. You would be dead before you drew your weapons."
Soldaer seems a little confused, offended, and definitely a bit angry at that. "You don't know who I am, do you?" Soldaer asks with fires lighting behind his eyes.
"Why should I? I've met plenty of adventurers. You're all the same. I don't particularly dislike your kind, but I have no love for them, either."
"Well, I'm not a mere adventurer. I am Soldaer Torrae, Ranger and Druid, and a Chosen of my deity, Eilistraee. I've dealt with demons and devils before. While I don't want a fight, if you mean harm to anyone here, you will have to fight me."
Xorius laughs. "This place is practically a treasure trove of enemies of the Nine Hells. Not that I've heard of you, but seem like you would be a pest."
Soldaer's eyes flare suddenly, and you can tell that he's trying his best to restrain himself. Shade (the big cat-like creature standing next to him), starts to growl at Xorius warningly.
"Oh, don't burn yourself up. I didn't come here to fight anyone."

"So they'd prefer being viciously mauled to gaining power and prestige? Above all, mortals are selfish."

The younger one, who you can assume is a paladin of some sort, turns to his brother. "Now where in the blazes did you teleport us too?"
A younger human, which one can asume is a pirate, looks out the door at them
Kinsley joins them obviously grumpy that everything continues to be boring and they're being mostly ignored, "Hey pirate person don't mind me."
"Oh, hi. I'll mind you."
"Ok, fair, at least you're talking to me. Wanna go mess with the really holy angelic looking people?"
The older of the two Aasimar, who is obviously some sort of mage, seems just as confused. "I'm not sure. I tried teleporting us back home, but obviously our granddad had different plans. When he starts interfering in my spells, there's no telling what will happen, or, in the case of a teleportation spell, where we will end up."
Kinsley the Demon lord, Demi god, King, Knight, Vampire, Guild Master, Thief, were-ferret of chaos walks up in their child form, "Hail and well met travelers. You seem lost."
*Finally, the shenanigans begin!*
The older brother steps forward, the light from his wings illuminating Kinsely's features. "Hello, and indeed we are. My name is Egrein, and this is my brother Rierlin. I was trying to teleport us home, but our granddad, who happens to be my patron and the source of my magic, obviously had other ideas."
"Theres many things to hear of. Its unsurprising how most havent heard of everything. Whats your name?"
"You don't need to lecture me. I am Xorius, commander of the Bleeding Legion."
*What sort of check would that be to try to know anything of any if that?* "What brings you here?"
*History or Arcana.* "Why should I have the smallest incentive to tell you?"
*Arcana: 25* "Because in a place with so many strange and/or powerful beings, its usually a good thing to get to know people. Connections with those you see as useless or unprofitable matter much more here"
"I don't see you as useless. Just very intrusive."
"I prefer the term curious, but thats fair. It gives me a good amount of knowledge on many people."
"If you spend your whole life gathering knowledge, then when you die, you'll know everything, and will have accomplished nothing."
"I have much life left to go. Ive accomplished some already, and Ill make sure Ill use what knowledge Ive gained. I dont plan on wasting anything"
"So many believe that. They argue and fight over meaningless cities, insignificant kingdoms. They don't realize that the cosmos is in jeopardy. They could change that. But they prefer to shun the truth, to live in their false little realities."
"People do enjoy their comfort zones.... But the cosmos has been in danger for a while, and will likely stay that way beyond most peoples lifespans."
"Just because a threat will outlive you doesn't mean you shouldn't do your work in preventing it."
"Thats a matter of individual perspectives. And those range wildly. There are many who dont care for anything beyond them"
"Like the threat that the Nine Hells has dedicated themselves to fighting."
"To be fair... While, yes, the demons are a huge threat, devils are also to many. Most would see assisting in the blood war joining a threat to kill a different threat."
"So they'd prefer being viciously mauled to gaining power and prestige? Above all, mortals are selfish."
"Mortals are... Individual. Neither in exact law, nor in full chaos. And most see a thirst for power and prestige as selfish"
"That's my point. They're cowards. They're afraid to seize what they want, simply because some petty notion of "evil.""
She shrugs "People will always be people. Complaining wont do anything"
"I'm trying to prove a point to you."

"Fun. Well, welcome to the end of the world. This is the future, I am a humble merchant of this time, would you like to buy some potions?"

At that, the light in Soldaer's eye dims quite a bit, although it is still there. Shade stops growling, but is still rather weary of Xorius. "Well, if you aren't here to fight anyone, why are you here? It's not often that one of your stature leaves the Nine Hells."
"I really don't have any reason to tell you that. And you've given me several reasons not to."
