Phantom glides back over to the tavern, landing pretty close to where Mali is working, but not close enough to cause any accidents.
She smiles, and waves. Seeming strangely unsurprised at a dragon sighting
Phantom smiles. With a swirl of mist, he shifts into his moon elf form and walks over. "Hello. I'm Phantomizakell, or Phantom if that's easier to remember. Who might you be?"
"Im Acvomalia of Sogel. But I usually just go by Mali"
Phantom smiles. "Pleasure to meet you, Mali. Well, what exactly are you up to? Looks like you're an alchemist, if I'm not mistaken."
"Im... Sorta trying to be! This is only my 36th elixir" she pulls down her goggles, which are bronze, with red tinted lenses
Phantom chuckles slightly. "I wish you the best of luck."
"Thanks Mr. Phantom! What exactly do you do?"
Phantom smiles, somewhat wryly. "King, friend, and parent" He sighs, and his voice seemed to crack slightly when says the last part on the list.
"Wow... I imagine that must be a lot. My father and mother definitely do seem overworked often, and they have similar roles..."
"Except that they have each other to share the burden..." He sighs and rocks back on his heels a little, seeming saddened.
".. What do you mean?"
Phantom smiles sadly, and a tear comes to his eye. "Caelum...my wife...was murdered by a fallen god. We had just finished our vows in fact..." He tries to pull himself together, and barely succeeds, still shaking slightly with the emotions that were threatening to break through.
"Oh... Im sorry... At... At least you seem to be growing comfortable sharing it? Its... Not exactly something most would tell someone they just met about"
Phantom nods, smiling sadly still, and a single tear escapes before he pulls himself back together. "Yeah...It's still not easy though...she died only a few months ago...and after 3,500 years of life, she was the only one I ever truly loved..." He sighs.
"Im... Sorry to hear that... I dont... Think I can really understand.. Sorry"
Phantom nods. "I hope you never do...It's the worst feeling you can imagine, but worse."
"Sorry..."
Phantom chuckles sadly. "It's alright...I've had some time to process it. I don't know if I'll ever fully get over it though."
"Yeah... How old are your children?"
"A couple months. They hatched the same day that Caelum died..." His voice trails off again.
"Months? That... Doesnt sound like enough time to process something like that"
Phantom smiles slightly. "Maybe, maybe not." He shrugs. "I'm healing at the least."
".. I guess so... Still... I imagine its just the start of a winding road."
Phantom nods. "You're probably right, Mali." He sighs, but smiles again.
"... Can I... Ask something strange of you?"
Phantom smiles. "Sure. What do you need?"
"Could I... Have a horn, claw, or scale of yours?"
Phantom chuckles, then laughs. "Sure." He shifts back into his draconic form, and extends one of his foreclaws. "Take a small scale." He says, still chuckling.
*FYI, the "Small" scales for him are still about 6 inches across; the largest ones are the plate-like ones on his underside, each of which are 4 inches thick, and between 5-10 feet wide, depending on where they are.*
"Thank you! Whats the best way to remove them without harming you?"
Phantom chuckles. "Don't worry too much. I'm a cleric, and can heal it. As for the pain," He shrugs. "I'm almost 3,500 years old. I've felt far worse than having a single scale removed."
"... Alright.." She takes a small dagger, attempting to gently pry off a small scale
After a little bit, and a slight wince from Phantom when she accidentally jabbed a little too deep with the dagger, she's able to grab the scale.
She carefully pockets it, before sterilizing the dagger, and tucking that away as well
Phantom nods, and shifts back into his elf form, a slight cut showing on the finger that corresponds to the claw she took the scale from. "Anything else I can help you with?" He says with a slight smile.
"Not currently, I dont think! Thank you, though!! And... Again, sorry about what happened"
Phantom nods, and smiles a little sadly. "You're welcome Mali. And it's fine; there's nothing you, or anyone else could have done, or can do, about it."
"... Theres always something. It may not be clear or obvious, but if theres one thing that I learned in my home... The worlds are wide and chaotic enough that any possibility can and will happen in our vast multiverse... And thats what makes it all worth experiencing!"
Phantom nods, and chuckles slightly. "I fought alongside people who are now some of the most powerful deities in my world. They helped me as much as they could, and even they could only bring Caelum back for a short time; long enough for her to tell me about the eggs, and for me to say goodbye..." He smiles sadly. "They couldn't keep her here...as much as they tried, it wasn't enough." He sighs. "Thank you though."
Gwen waves at them, setting their book down. "Who might you be?"
*Description*

"You may call me Gwen." They say. *Truesight?*. "Nice to meet you, Mr Vinesspeaker. How goes it?"
"... What exactly do you mean?"
"Um... How is life going?"
"Life... Goes the same as it always will. It starts. It ends. All lives. All dies. Balance is kept"
"I see... guess I should of narrowed it down a bit, but oh well. So are you a hunter?"
"Not exactly. I only hunt whats needed to sustain myself. Any further is wrongful waste."
"I can respect that. So how has that been for you?"
"... Same as it is for anyone that needs food. If Im speaking currently, its given enough to survive."
"And to thrive?"
"... Is unimportant. If you live, youve had enough. Any further is waste"
"I see. Where you brought up this way?"

"Do you have any abilities, other than ice arrows? My primary ability has to be hammers. Its a very magical ability!"
Yazrin laughs. "A few fun ones." He says with a wink. "Ones that definitely helped me survive against my kin who hunted me in the Underdark."
"That's most intriguing! Do tell."
Yazrin smiles, and walks back into some deeper shadows near the tavern, and simply vanishes. Things like this. He says a little teasingly.
Aja sighs. "Never trust a ghost."
Yazrin laughs and reappears about ten feet behind Aja. "I'm not ghost." he says, holding out one of his hands. "I'm flesh and blood. I just know how to use the darkness to my advantage when hiding."

He sees lighting seemingly summoned from no where destroying a clearing in the woods
He narrows his eyes and circles back and a little lower.
He sees a Goliath welding a black sword. As each ray of lighing falls, the sword glows a pale green. The lightning bolts weave around the dragon, not hurting them in the slightest
Phantom pulls up, flying in place a decent ways up still.
The Goliath stops shooting, seemingly tired. They wave at the dragon, before preparing to shoot more
Unusual weapon you have.
Indeed. Just practicing. Something wrong? Sorry if I hurt you
Phantom chuckles. Takes more than a little lightning to hurt one as ancient as me.
Good. I don't think I want to deal with you right now, at least when you are angry. Want to land?
Phantom chuckles. Enjoying a bit of time away from my younglings, so why not? He shifts into a hawk and flies down, where he shifts into his moon elf form, with a pair of ornate longswords at his belt.
"So, who might you be?"
He smiles. "Phantomizakell, or Phantom if that's easier to remember."
"Cool. You may call me Tohono. So... You are a parent?"

"Sorry for bring up a sore subject... Um... Want to talk about something else?"
Phantom sighs. "It's nothing about my children...it's their mother..." He sighs again and nods. "Yeah...something else would be a good idea."
"Mmm... So what is your favorite thing to hoard?"
Phantom smiles. "My hoard has a bit of anything, although most of the truly valuable items are hidden away. I have your standard treasures, magic items, an armory that would make a king blush, and the most complete library of the last 4,000 years of literature form my world." He sighs again though as he mentions the library, that same sad look coming to his features.
The golaith frowns. "Mmm... I would ask about the specifics, but something tells me, you wouldn't be willing to share..."
Phantom laughs. "And what gives you that impression?"
"That you might be worried about creating an encitive for me to steal some stuff."
Phantom laughs again. "Trust me, the truly valuable items are well hidden away. Not even my children, as curious as they are, have discovered them yet."

"... Theres more. There always is, and always will be. Whats thought of as powerful can turn out to be nothing as the lense widens further and further... Im sure if you really seek, youll find something. But... It also may be best to let her rest and care about your other responsibilities, I suppose..."
Phantom sighs and smiles. "I'm a cleric. Disturbing her rest would be wrong, and I know I will see her again when my time to leave the material comes." He says with a sad, and oddly hopeful smile.
"You believe youll reach the same afterlife?"

Hi everyone! I'm working up the will to finalize my signature, so... I guess this will be the signature for now
He sees lighting seemingly summoned from no where destroying a clearing in the woods
Phantom chuckles. "Yes, I am....." His voice trails off and a deep sadness comes over his features momentarily. He smiles again, but it seems slightly forced. "Pleasure to meet you, Tohono."
"Mmm... Interested in a magic sword?"
*Phantom's probably one of the only entities that can easily resist Meroving...XD +12 CHA save.*
Phantom shakes his head. "I have dozens more, some of them sentient. I need no more." He says with a smile.
Gwen waves at them, setting their book down. "Who might you be?"
