You could be going about your average day, or you could be in the middle of some grand adventure, either way, this happened to you for some reason. The air around you crackles with lighting, though it doesn't seem magical, nor does it seem natural. This lighting keeps on building up and up and up until it feels like you are in a shock chair. Then BOOF , you suddenly find yourself in the middle of a bright and busy street, cars zooming up and down it, all sorts of people and things walking along the sidewalks, the sounds blend together to form a cacophony of noises, talking, honking, and various other things. A giant blue dragon flies overhead, seemingly carrying a crate of something. You are definitely not in Kansas anymore.
Welcome to Konton! An in-progress world I have built for Adohand's Kitchen to hopefully add another fun place for people to have diverse RP! Before I get into more specifics about the world, here are the rules I currently have in mind. (Be warned, rules are subject to change over time, so keep an eye here for that occaision.) Potential content in this thread may be mature sometimes, so 16+.
1: Fairly simple, absolutely no exceptions for this rule, not a single character is allowed to have previously lived or been on this world, as it is so out of the way in the multiverse, even gods have abandoned it. Yes, that would also mean no one would have any prior knowledge about it.
2: Censorship. Uncensored cursing is allowed, just try not to overuse it, like 5 different times in one sentence over use. As for staunchy situations, or as the internet would call it, horny, mostly the same as for any other tavern, try to fade to black, or take it to a pm.
3: Warning. There aren't any protections that other taverns may have, every fight is a live or die situation, and characters may kill other characters as long as both parties have consented in a pm.
4: Consequences. Reputation in this world is a very important thing once you get to a certain point. If you are on the bad side of a group, you may be hunted by that group, and if you're in the good side of another group, you may be offered protection. Very simple stuff, think of it like Fallout, or Skyrim.
5: Laws. Unless you're in a city under The Civil (Going into that later), there are virtually no laws or rules in most cities, the only rules that there may be is if it's a city under the control of a group.
6: Reciprocation. It's a given for you to have fun as an individual, but try to play so as to allow others to have fun with you, the world may be all chaotic and depressing in some cases, but I will not tolerate anybody not feeling comfortable or not enjoying themselves. Please inform me if someone is bothering you, and I will take the best course of action my brain can think of.
7: Expectations. Don't expect amazing things, most things I may describe are not pre thought, I rely on a lot of improv, and may or may not keep the things I improv as 'canon'. As for you all, I expect this world to be take at least a bit seriously, this is probably one of the most ambitious ideas I've had in a while.
8: Feedback. If you have any feedback, be it negative or positive, feel free to pm me about it, and we can discuss about whatever it is.
9: Power. The only other limit I shall put on characters is a power cap, homebrew must be viewed by me and approved, and other than that, characters are only allowed to be as powerful as the basic DDB character creator can make
10: Outside stuff. This thread is in a sort of bubble, meaning that if you come here, any baggage from other threads shall be left at the door, waiting to be picked up when you leave, I assume most of you understand why, but just for clarification, this is to prevent any extremely bad OOC arguments from happening.
11: OOC. As per the usual for most threads, OOC speak must be written like *This.*
12: Character number. Because I plan on having everyone at least slightly spread out, I am allowing up to 6 characters.
That's all for the rules for now! Make sure you read them, and as a precaution to make sure people have read them, please send me a pm with the letter 'L'. :) For now, here's the various groups, people, and cities I've made so far for this world. (May add or remove as the world evolves and gets changed by the people in it. Or if I get a cool idea.)
The Blood Cartel: A gang that has been around for many centuries, older than even a few cities, mostly because they are almost exclusively vampires. They are drug makers, sellers, and buyers of the world, and they have a branch in almost every city. (Basic idea, might think of a way to elaborate more eventually.) The head of the gang is Mia.
The Hissers: The yuan-ti have mostly adapted to the world, though a few members of the race still feel that deep-set superiority complex that the ancients ones did, and they have come together to make their own 'empire', they follow the rule of Kilslaons.
The Civil: The closest thing to law enforcement this world has, they have control of about 30% of the cities in the world, making them the biggest group in numbers. The president of this group is Kelvin Moover.
The Underground: A group of researchers who have built their own cities underround, thus the name. They are not opposed by many because they do huge scientific research and progress for everyone... for a price, of course. Their main base is under City 78, and lately, weird things have been happening around there. They have no specific leader, they are all on equal levels to each other.
Hyde Corporations: Founded by Jim Kraft, this business provides the world with all of their technological needs, their most popular product is a virtual reality receiver that the owner made at 19 and implanted into his own brain, which allowed too see Thoughtspace, a sort of virtual mirror world.
O'Loren's Gunrunners: A group of arms dealers, they provide most of the gangs with a majority of their mass weapons.
Mia Liner: The head of The Blood Cartel, a young, ambitious vampire who has recently come into her positions after the mysterious death of the former head. She has quickly made a reputation among the cities as a very attentive and opportunistic leader.
Kilslaons: The Empress of The Hissers, she despises anyone who isn't a yuan-ti. A literal giant snake, Kilslaons has given The Hissers the leadership they needed for the past few decades, coming into power on the verge of their breakdown, then building them back up into an actual position of power. The Hissers see her as the New Snake Goddess.
Kelvin Moover: A politician Satyr, he has a very professional and business-like air around him at all times, and he's also known for his sharp intellect and cold demeanor, and for those reasons he was elected as the president of The Civil. Coming into power only 5 years ago, he's increased the influence and power of The Civil exponentially since then, and for that he's respected by everyone in The Civil.
Subject 38: An escaped project of The Underground, it's been lurking around City 78 for a long time, not much is known about it.
Harold Ferworn: A kenku who has guided the recent inter-planar travelers to a place where they might feel more comfortable.
Gerry the Merry: A old man who runs Starhoppers, the place that takes in the recent inter-planar travellers until they get on their feet, he's called 'the Merry' because of his happy and cheery attitude even though he's a human over 80.
Jeremia Vequin: City 78's most popular fence, he sells and buys almost everything that crosses his path for what everyone sees as a decent price, whether it's 'illegal' or legal. Everyone loves this little goblin.
Qeidrig: A huge blue dragon that lives in City 77, acting as a lookout for Jeremiah. Also Jeremiah's closest friend.
Jim Kraft: A man crippled and born blind, Jim rose up to create Hyde Corporations, a technology company to provide the world with all of their technological needs. He keeps his identity a secret for unknown reasons, only letting a select few employees meet him personally.
Arson of the Heart: A popular boyband group consisting of a fire genasi, a fire elemental, and a human. Their manager is a fire giant. (All remain unamed.)
O'Loren: The orc runner of O'Loren's Gunrunners, she keeps everyone in check and makes sure that nothing goes wrong with her dealings.
O'Lean: O'Loren's brother, he acts as a sort of personal dealer, sending deliveries out, collecting deals, giving the runners their missions, etc.
Jackson: A runner in O'Loren's Gunrunners, he's quite fast for a human, and talented at parkour as well as his friends, Izzy and D.
Damien (D): A teifling, also a runner in O'Loren's Gunrunners, good friends with Jackson and Izzy.
Isabelle (Izzy): A tabaxi, yet another runner in O'Loren's Gunruners, she is one of their fastest, making her a personal favorite of some of the captians.
City 78: Arguably one of the biggest cities in the world, it's also one of the most uncontrolled. No one has been able to keep a foothold of power in the city, The Underground uses it as their base because they know it'd be nigh impossible for them to be taken down by anyone of their main base is in the center.
City 77: A city right next to City 78, also the only way into City 78, connected via a long bridge.
The Nevermore Forest: One the world's last forests, it is a huge island that has gone millennia without being settled by anyone.
City 83: Known as the The Serpent City, it is The Hissers main territory, also where Kilslaon lives.
City 62: Known as the Blood-Red District, it is The Blood Cartel's home city.
City 4-58 and 103-587: All of these cities are in the jurisdiction of The Civil.
Thoughtspace: A virtual mirror world the owner of Hyde Corps. discovered and made a profit of.
I had some help in making some of the people and places, ItsNotAChest helped me out with Hyde Corps. and the owner, AlaricBloodhunter and WendigoOfLore helped me out with Arson of the Heart and the people in there.
A young man stands on the side of the streets. though this was no fleshy humanoid of any sorts. He was made of metal and wires. he stood about 5'11 or so with bright silver plated skin and black steel components holding him together. He wore a helmet made of black glass and dark silver. He carried a sniper rifle on his back and two pistols attached to his hips belt. He held a half lit cigarette between his fingers as he tapped the burning embers to the ground.

"I am Harold, though this voice isn't mine. Follow me, there's a place you can stay until you get used to City 78."
This was Kalon. An Outlaw from the world of the backbone and Mercenary for hire.
A taloned hand taps on his shoulder, hoping to catch his attention.
He sighs and turns around "I ain't strippin for money martin" he said before realizing, this was not martin.
A kenku stood there, slightly confused by the unexpected phrase. "Have you just arrived, new one?" He spoke in a kind old man's voice.
"Hm, oh a bird thing. yes, i could say im new" he chuckled
"Follow me, there's a place you can stay until you get used to City 78." He spoke in the same voice as before and motioned for Kalon to follow.
Kalon raised an eyebrow behind his mask and followed.
The kenku lead Kalon through a series of alleyways, crossing streets, and through other buildings. It was clear he knew at least this part of the city like the back of his hand. Eventually, the kenku stopped in front a small brick building. "Welcome to Starhoppers, a sort of refuge for people like you."
Kalon raised another eyebrow. "You? You know this place?" he asked, narrowing his eyes behind his helmet
"The kenku us my helper, and by my, I mean the actual person with this voice." The kenku gestured to a set of stairs that go into the ground. "That is the entrance, please excuse Harold, he must go back to that street you were on to get others, I'll meet you inside." The kenku waved and went back the way they came.
Kalon watched them walk away before throwing down his cigarette and stomping on it to put it out with heel of his boot. He sighed and walked down the stairs.
*down, my friend.*
There was a door with a neon welcome sign hanging on the front.
Kalon was so tempted to break that sign but resisted the urge and walked inside.
Inside was pure chaos, all different types of people of different races intermingled amognst each other. The place itself was reminiscent of an average bar, some tables scattered around the place, a small stage on one wall, and of course a bar counter, with a wall of different liquors on shelves behind it. Tending to the bar was an old man who waved to Kalon.

Factions:
People:
And finally, some of the cities/places:

A younger male stands in the middle of the road, looking around confusedly, "What in the?" He murmers. He's an average human (Looklike), 5'9, caucasian skin with a small tan, short brown hair, and ice blue eyes. He's dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, with a holy symbol of some sort hanging around his neck. In his hands he carrys a book, which has the same symbol as the one around his neck. He's built pretty athletically, but doesn't seem to be armed. After a moment he winces and brings his free hand to the side of his head
