Mahl looks at Luciano and bows in apology as she enters the church.
”Even after all this time I still don’t get the logic behind worshipping anything, be it divine or not.”
"It's the idea, that you are willing to put your faith in something." He explains.
“The more modern interpretation I can get behind. It’s just the less… civilized one that I can’t. Why throw your life away to possibly please something that doesn’t care about you?” Mahl groans.
*Hey Salem, nothing against you or the test, I think it's cool that you came up with the idea for this, but I'm not going to complete it. It gives to many bad vibes of a popularity contest and I feel like I might hurt people's feelings if it do it. Looks cool and everything but I hope you can understand why I'm not going to do it.*
*Cathan's AC is only 17 since he wears no armor and lacks unarmored defense.*
The smoke makes any retaliation virtually impossible. It's like he's everywhere and nowhere, his visage flickering in and out of the hallucinations. They kill him a million, billion times in mere moments, but it doesn't seem to stick. Eventually, one hallucination is different. His face is on full display, mangled and rotting and burned and skinless, artificial teeth crammed into a wide jack-o-lantern smile. He's standing right behind Juliette, and Prospero is still swatting at hallucinations. Jacque is the only one who can see him as he winds up with an ornate shovel, sharp and sturdy enough to take off someone's head.
Jacque runs over, and with no idea what to do, he unhinges his jaw as wide as it will possibly go before attempting to bite down on his shoulder, planning to have his teeth dig into them out of sheer fear for his hero and family. To hit:19
He hits... but Cathan replies with just the same, chomping down into his neck, teeth embedding into Jacque's scaly flesh. Damage: 15 piercing, and make a STR save or be restrained as Cathan's teeth burst and sprout into thorned plants that feed on Jacque's blood.
Omori stops again as well, emerging from that inky wave of shadow and lays in the grass beside Merabelle. She looks up at all the stars, eager for what they have in store for her. "I look forward to that- to being so close to something so sublime and beautiful and... radiant." She seems so happy, looking up at those stars... but she also seems the tiniest bit conflicted by something.
The sunflower watches as he walks away. Once Tim is out of sight and out of earshot, it drops its friendly demeanor and immediately seems far more... cold than before. It shambles away from the Inn, the miniature sun coiled in its stem like a gently bobbing lantern receding into the night.
Merabelle wraps an arm around them before looking down "Now that's the trouble sweetheart? You got that look in yer eyes an' I want ta know what its comin' from." She says, making sure not to make it sound like an order, but a request.
She is silent for a while, not immediately sure how to explain. She takes a deep breath. "...What if the stars don't accept me? I'm the 'creation' of an Elder Evil that's two main aspects were the absence of light and the absence of hope. I'm, like, at least partly made of shadow magic myself. I'm... I'm worried I'll be deemed 'unworthy' or something similar."
She looks down to them for a moment, before beginning to laugh, first softly, and growing in volume and power “Won’t accept you?! You think they won’t accept you?!” She slaps her knees, before going dead silent, looking her in the eyes “You are the greatest thing the stars will ever receive. I am a cannibalistic giant, you may be the creation of something evil, but you yourself are not. I am proud of you, know that.”
She regains a sort of half-smile. "I... no, you're right. I won't know whatever the outcome will be until I reach out to the stars myself- and either way... I'm proud of me too for getting this far."

Samaritan is in the restaurant, currently berating a customer for being a dagger inside. He hauls him out, cursing him with everything under the sun, and throws him out into the road. "AND DONT YOU EVER COME BACK!" He bellows and slams the door. He stalks back to the kitchen, informs the staff he is going outside to take a smoke break. He now sits on the loading dock, grumbling to himself about pests.
Prospero walks out of the water, carrying a large fish in his arms. He has evidently stabbed it in the head with his finger and killed it while keeping the meat tender and fresh.

The big guy nods and splits the fish open with his bare hands right there on the docks, stuffing most of the offal into his helmet to eat, but tossing the digestive tract aside.

Samaritan sighs and walks over "Here, let me do that for you." He grumbles and picks up the fish. With a flick of his wrist, he had produces a deboning knife and gets to work. He pulls it out like he has done this millions of times, the bones barely having any meat stuck to them. He sets those aside and produces his chefs knife, chopping off the head and tail, setting it aside as well.

That’s an interesting ranking, I think Salem should be higher.
