sitting alone at the bar of the tavern, close to the fire, is a teen boy with fair skin, a reddish, runny nose, as if he was sick, and frosty blue eyes. His ears are slightly pointed and the tips are covered in a blue frost. His… hair is white and… it isn’t hair. It’s more like… whipped cream, swirling at the top, sprinkled with bits of peppermint and chocolate sprinkles. Out of his head are a pair of tiny antlers made of chocolate wafer sticks, and his fingertips are covered in sugar dust. He wears a red Christmas sweater, and he has a tired expression, with half closed eyes with dark circles under them. He sits over a cup of hot chocolate, with whipped cream and sprinkles, chocolate chips and m&ms, way too many toppings.
He see's a large man, wielding a equally large ice pick. He wears pure red leathers trimmed and lined with white first. He wears a cap on his head made of similar material. He has a massive white beard and bushy brows. His holly green eyes foxus on the ice that fills the riverway, humming to himself. Twelve reindeer munch on frozen grass beside him, their frozen breath fogging up around them.
Curious, the boy puts on a fur coat around him, and walks outside, taking his hot cocoa to get a better look.
The man turns and chuckles heartily "Boys! Stop eating that grass and say hello!"
The reindeer look up, their ears flicking as they raise their heads. They wander over, sniffing the boy with interest.
The boy stumbles back a few steps, chuckling at nervously. He smells like mint and chocolate. He waves to the man, reaching out a hand to pet one of the reindeer. ”ello there…”
"How're you lad?" He says, poking the ice with the pick.
He steps a bit closer, sipping his hot cocoa. “I’m-yawn- pretty well! How are you?” he asks, shivering a bit.
"Tired are ye laddie?" He chuckles "I am well, very polite of ye to ask."
“Just a-yawn-bit... man, it’s so cozy In that tavern, I could fall asleep next to that fire and never wake up…-yawn-… -I, uh, just got here from a long trek in the snow… it sure is cold out here… want some hot cocoa?”
"I have my own child." He grins and nods "Thank you kindly however." He said and swings the pick. The ice in the river suddenly shatters into millions of bits before his eyes as he chuckles again "There, now the fish should be able to swim freely!"
He recoils a bit when the ice shatters. ”wow… you must be pretty strong… what’s your name?”

"Ah, sorry lad, didn't mean to scare ye." He bows his head "I would suppose I is but then again, stronger out there exist."
He hears the creak of old bones as something emerges from the darkest corner of the tavern. A smiling man in his early 30s, dressed in a deep blue sweater vest, a white shirt with spiral cuff links and a matching spiral bow tie. He wasn't so much as hiding in the darkness as one with it, but he's just a slightly uncanny-looking human being on the surface. "Hey there, bud."
A religion check can be made here, unless you're confident in who you believe this to be.
He tilts his head, looking the man up and down. Religion: 11
”hiya there…-yawn-…” he sips some of his hot cocoa, looking drowsy.
As a deity, the DC is pretty low for him. This is The Neighbor, a powerful fiend that has a quite interesting trait: it helps people with whatever they ask. It never causes direct bodily or even emotional harm, nor does it stigmatize or prioritize requests. It has no major abilities once it manifests, but it is competent in nearly every field, from therapy to art to science.
"You need a place to crash for the night? I can rent you a room. I heard the Lord of Sigil suite is quite nice here."

People have been developing magical skills at a shocking rate. They claim that their secret is their tutor, the Magus, a strange entity who recently appeared in town. Many of these rapidly advancing wizards, warlocks, and sorcerers will even offer directions, sharing the gift they were given. A small lakeside cave is where they all point to.

*I’M BACK! DOES ANYONE WANT TO ROLEPLAY?! PLEASE!*
*YES*
*I have mother misery, and also now I have Vanilla, the god of sweets and winter treats! (Trademark)(
*Either one works, or both really, I’ve got people that might work with anyone depending on who you want to play.*
*alright!*
Mother misery is comforting a dying man in an alley, suffering from the weeping pox.
Vanilla (description somewhere last page) is in the tavern, next to the fire, sipping hot cocoa that has way too many toppings and never seems to run out.

the Neighbor can make his own religion check.
"It is quite cozy." It agrees. "Maybe a pillow then. I know a cantrip to make it stay the same temperature all night. Can't cast it myself, but it's real easy."
Religion: 37 (Yes, I know its bonus is quite insane, but this creature is pure utility. It's made for this stuff.)

*Course. Don't like seeing you sad but it's a natural human emotion when we are upset.*
Jack has heard of this and has followed the markers as to where people have pointed to. He hums to himself, a magical aura forming around him like a cloak of shimmering air. He descends into the cave slowly, gripping his tome.

The Neighbor, upon closer inspection of the boy, realizes this to be the recently ascended Deity, Vanilla De Meringue. They only became a deity less than a decade ago, due to some greater god gifting them a portion of their power. They’re a deity of sweets, winter treats, hospitality, and comfort.
”that’d be great. The pillow, I mean… I can handle the temperature myself, I know how to tend to a fire.”

*Thank you again.*

PLEASE!*
“Nicholas… hm. I’m Vanilla!” He says, sitting down in the snow, sipping his hot cocoa.

*I'm a little depressed, but I just introduced a new character, so I'm up for it.*
*It's another fiend, of course, but this one is mostly non-combat.*

He pets the reindeer.
”heh, these guys are so friendly! They’re your pets?”
