He hears someone orating loudly from town. "IT IS BY NATURE THAT THE STRONG PREY ON THE WEAK, BUT WE ARE ABOVE NATURE! WE ARE NOT ANIMALS, BUT MEN! WE CREATE ART AND HARNESS THE POWER OF LIGHTNING IN OUR HOMES! AND YET SOME OF US STILL THINK IT'S OKAY TO BULLY AND ABUSE THE MOST VULNERABLE OUT OF ALL OF US ON THIS HOLIDAY? BLASPHEMY! NOT AGAINST ANY BIBLE OR CODE, BUT AGAINST THE VERY CONCEPT OF HUMAN PROGRESS!"
Eito winces and stands, taking their shortsword and a few sticks of incense along to investigate.
A wolfman dressed in torn, dirty, formerly expensive clothing is shouting to a crowd. Blood runs down his face from his mouth and nose as he waves around a manuscript written on yellow wood pulp paper. He bellows with the conviction of a preacher and the implicit power of a lord despite the level of disrepair he is in, and seems to have been for at least a year. Eventually, he stops, panting, and holds out his hand to a member of the crowd, who hands him a bottle in a brown paper bag. He holds it up and chugs it, swaying slightly. "This... this will not be our legacy. We strike." The people give a scandalized gasp, . "Today we UNIONIZE! NO WORK! HEAR ME?! And if I see one of you sorry suckers snitching, I'll return the favor in a heartbeat, mark my words."
Eito doesn’t say anything. They know too little about the circumstances to go and offer an opinion. They merely watch and listen.

He looks at her weakly. He sits back down, putting his head in his hands. "Alright." He speaks quietly, as if he doesn't want to say it. He clears his throat. "Alright. Not because I'm hurt, but because I respect you and your medical opinion."

her acolytes begin to tend to his wounds in more detail, bandaging them and ✨stuff✨. Mother Misery spends that time tending to someone with weeping pox.

It is said that a lordship from the seven families is coming to town. The son of the late lord, Joseph Marrow, is setting up deep in the woods at the Marrow family home. The home originally belonged to the Great Great Uncle of the Marrow family and recently has been bought back by Joseph to turn it into a new spot to head the local operations for their sugar cane plantations. His son, Sable Marrow, is said to soon arrive via a beautiful ship appropriately named ‘Aphrodite's Blessing’ in harbor at any moment.
Hours go by and get nothing. People begin to fear the worse. Perhaps Poseidon himself sunk the ship because it bored the Goddess of Beauty's name, perhaps the pirates in the cove got to it and plundered all that there was. Who knows… but the lights in the Marrow house have been lit now..
There is a loud knock at the door. Pounding, actually.

The wolf continues preaching- since that's what it is- making argument after argument that explains why they should stop working until they are offered fair wages and 9-5 working hours. There are people of just about every profession here, all of them low-class. At the end of his sermon, he stumbles off his soap box and heads for a corner store, looking exhausted. The crowd talks amongst themselves, generally agreeing that he was at least somewhat right, and- and this is interesting- he did fight off the union busters single-handedly.

They are in fact, horribly understaffed. Six acolytes and mother misery taking care of over sixty patients. “We’ve requested that more followers of Mother Misery join us… but it’s a couple hundred miles from the Cathedral..”
There is a loud knock at the door. Pounding, actually.
The door seems to be locked still but the curtain opens a bit. "Whot do ye want?" A heavy accented voice asks.
A wolfman in tattered, no-longer expensive clothing stands there, clearly out of it and holding a journal in his hands. His eyes are a bright green, glowing like Christmas lights. "I need a story..." he mutters. "Come to the door already!" He calls back.

"Huh. Would you accept volunteers?" He pulls out a cheap journal and a writing kit. He prepares to dip the pen in ink, turning his head back to the healers.
