No news is good news…
I'll lay a white rose on the cold earth, knowing it that it has not claimed your soul.
It coughs and hacks. It suddenly speaks in a woman's voice. "We're coming apart at the seams!" Then a man's. "Are you scared, kid? ...I am too." "I'm lost.. lost in the woods... and it's after me!" "My baby! My baby! Have you seen my baby?!" "I... can't breathe!" A thousand voices, all crying out as the thing lurches forward, its hook thumping into the ground before it.
"Hmmm... Really? If you can promise me that you'll pursue this lead until it's logical conclusion, I'll tell you."
Felix nods vigorously. "I want to take the sun of an uninhabited system. People may be evil a lot of the time, but they have the potential to be good. I was just a normal guy once too."
*Apologies for the delay*
Omori retreats a bit more into the dark, her eyes now the only part visible. "Why are you here? What do you want?"
"I promise I'll see this to its end. Was planning on doing so anyway." She responds, a determined look on her face.
"...Very well, then we shall. I suppose this realm isn't deserving of an end- however merciful- just yet."
"Why are you all just standing around!? The monster! It took my baby! Somebody! Help!" It retracts its claw... and shoves it into its own ribcage with a sickening rending of fabrick and the snapping of twigs. It pulls out a goat head with a pentagram drawn in the space between its eyes and horns. It finally speaks in its own voice. "Find... him."
It giggles. "Did you know that an Archfey not only has full knowledge over their domain of delight, but they can also detect anyone who broke any of the three laws? Hospitality could be broken by an attempted murder. Actually, it would have to be, regardless of the Archfey's personal beliefs. So, if the Archduchess can know all that, and hasn't told the press about it despite how bad that looks for her... what could that possible mean other than it's her, since she has no superiors to fear?"
"Thank you. Thank you so, so much Helianth. You have no idea how much this means to me." He hugs it.
It wheezes. Then it speaks in its own voice, deep and deeply familiar. "I... don't know. I remember you. I love you." It kisses Donn on the nose. After a second, it starts plastering his face with kisses, only stopping when it seems exhausted, which admittedly doesn't take super long. It rests its head on Donn's shoulder.
Donn checks Egregore over gently, making mental notes of scars, stitches, wounds and then such. He gently kissed his forehead "You remember me.. that's is good." He said, kissing his nose "It's okay.. it's okay. I will figure out what has happened dear."
Nearly his entire mass is a scarecrow now. All original material is internal, binding the shadow to the body. His wedding ring is embedded where his heart should be. "Thank you. Thank you so much, my darling. What... are our names?"
