"There's this shinigami named Omi who decided because I was rude to him that I die tomorrow. He hasn't shown up yet, but he said if I apologized to him he would let me live. Kinda hard to do that when he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. Anyway, evidently he altered my fate before so that some guy would fall in love with me for no reason, get upset that I wasn't interested in him the instant he came on to me, and kill himself. I don't think that's really forgiveable, so I got mad and called Omi some nasty things. Now I don't have to worry about tomorrow I guess."
“…” Mauric looks shocked. “…what’s a shinigami?”
"Death god. They're not all A-holes, but this guy was."
“If he’s a death god… oh… oh no…” Mauric looks devastated and hugs Felix as close as he can, starting to sob.

*The title of this chapter is: How Salem Killed Half of the Most Beloved Characters in the Tavern with One Interaction*
*That sounds about right, Felix is kinda holding a lot of things together, Rag might barely be able to hold on without getting so mad he starts destroying [gp].*
*Time to introduce my Fermentation Alchemist Mixologist.*
There is a slight humming of some sort of jaunty tune as gift walks into town. They wear 1920's style clothing with a wide brimmed fedora over their head. He carries a massive box-like backpack on his shoulders with two giant barrels of soemthing attached to the sides with rope. They dance along the streets, waving hi to almost every single person with a big grin on his face.

*It would be a pretty anti-climactic send-off no matter what, since Felix is trying not to make it a big deal.*
Merabelle rolls her eyes and walks over to lean over their shoulder “What’re you doin’ then sweetheart?”
He quickly puts his sword on the table in front of him, watching the creature with a curious gaze, wondering what it may be doing. He thinks to himself “Best not to act before you know someone else’s intentions.” He continues to drink and watch them.
Thane eventually stops, talking to a shopkeeper, occasionally looking into the eyes of Riotan’s disguise directly.
“Oh, this is the project that I’ve been working on for months now. I’m trying to create the ultimate blend of psionics and technology, and create a radio that can tune in to telepathy!”
The marilith doesn’t act or move. John would, however, recognize the style of demon as being Riotan’s, since he always assembles his minion demons out of disparate body parts to keep them in constant agony.
Rio raises an eyebrow at him but says nothing.
She smiles wide “Ain’t that interestin’? I doubt ya won’t be able ta do it, yer a smart cookie an’ any task can be pulled with enough work. Ya especially seem like a hard worker too.” She says, slapping their back softly.
He raises an eyebrow, grumbling softly before putting his holy blade away “Are you going to just stand there?” He asks.
Thane crosses his arms and shakes his head, before continuing to walk, pulling out a glass of cactus whiskey, drinking it as he walks.
“Thanks. I try my best.”
It still doesn’t answer. You’re not sure if it can even talk.
Rio keeps following, moving ever so slightly closer.
She continues to watch them work, her arms crossed.
He rubs the bridge of his nose and continues drinking, leaning back in his chair.
Thane eventually walking into an alleyway, an obvious bait for them to follow.
“See, I’m an artificer, but I also have an aberrant mind, so I’ve been experimenting with psychokinetics for a long time now. They’re really just an extension of the existing particle physics around magic as well as neurology.”
The marilith leans further over him, the stitches holding its body together creaking under the weight of the motion.
Rio, unafraid of anything, keeps following.

She nods along with their words, though she doesn’t understand too much of it, not being her field of understanding “Hmm, I ain’t gonna tell ya I understood all that, but I’m sure that you do.” She says with a smile.
He doesn’t lean back farther, looking back at it, not with hostility, though that’s his first instinct, but instead simply with a passiveness.
As soon as they round the corner into the alley Thane picks them up with one hand “I ain’t some kid, I know yer my boss an’ all, but ya don’t need ta watch my every move.”

“Hhhhhelllppp…” It croaks, its guttural voice barely audible.
“Whoa!” Rio is easy to lift but also offers no fight. “I’m just trying to make sure you stay safe, man. I know I gave you a tall order and I realized that it wouldn’t do well to send you out there without any protection. You’re exposing yourself to the world and you have quite a few enemies.”

The Giff walks over "Ello brother!" He said, having some sort of accent best described as Jamaican "You are?"

He leans against his hammer as if it were a cane. He offers his other hand to shake. "Never. I mean, my name is Never. I was almost Doctor Never, but things didn't work out. How about you?"
"There's no use worrying. Everyone dies eventually. You'll have plenty of time to mourn afterward."
Mauric exhales heavily. He hugs Felix harder, going fully silent.
Felix makes a pleasant murmur and hugs Mauric back. "I'm sorry. I should have held my tongue."
“AND NOT TELL ME?!!” He yells, pulling his face out of the depths of Felix’s shoulder. “If you’d done that, I’d have tracked down a spell scroll of reincarnation and brought you back, JUST TO KILL YOU MYSELF!”
