Vanilla is outside, looking a bit irritated. It’s snowing, and he’s smashing snow globes with a sledge hammer.
Sanviento looks up from his snow covered bench and his small contraptions, his voice entirely monotone and tired “What the [gp] are you doing that for?”
Vanilla doesn’t look up, hitting one snow globe like a baseball, sending shards of glass flying.
”bored.” He says, angrily kicking another One so high into the sky that it might not come down.
“You know destroying things obviously isn’t helping, it just makes you look like a wasteful brat.” He says, looking back down to his book, flipping the page.
He smashes another. ”you know, I think I deserve to let off some steam, so-“ he smashes another one. “That’s what I’m going to do, alright? I’ve spent a (1GP)ing decade doing a whole lot of nothing and I think…” he smashes a final one, and starts setting more up in front of him.
“There are better ways to blow off steam, you just look like someone who likes to waste money, which makes you look like a [gp]. If you spent a lot of time doing nothing, then do something meaningful and not just break stuff.”
He sighs, setting down the sledgehammer. The globes disappear. “really? Mm… you know, i try. I give everyone I met all of the comfort in the world, every day I do everything I can to help others… and it doesn’t mean anything! Nothing I do will mean anything to me because I can do anything I want to do!” He summons another snowglobe, and throws it like a snowball into a tree.

He looks to them, tired “Now that I’m part of your cult, what else do you want from me?”
They both roll their eyes in mirrored directions “Oh Truth and light, so boring. We are Mary, an’ Ann Valentine. Nice to meet you.” They hold out a hand each.
“Yes, cats are feisty and flaunt every restriction before them, particularly magically empowered ones.”
“Nothing. Can’t I just be around?”
Eito reaches out both hands and shakes both of theirs.
She orders herself a drink, petting Nine softly “I’ll try to keep things like that out of their reach. How are you professor?”
He squints at them, highly suspicious “Hmm. Fine.”
Their hands are both hot and cold, unnatural in texture and strength, but their smiles are plain and kind.
“Quite well at the moment. Anticipating the new year excitedly.”
“So what’s that blood from?”
Eito is still suspicious, but ignores it. They turn back to the shrine, inserting a stick of incense into the bottommost slot on the Tree of Life.
“Hmm, the new year is coming soon? I should try to keep track of these things I suppose.”
“Some kind of monstrosity wanted me to kill it.”
They both look curious at the shrine, leaning over to look closer at it, an unnatural heat coming off the both of them “What’s this for?”

Deep within the wood of the tavern, the smell of blood permeates at air. The sound of people can be heard from the darkness, the sound of people crying for help, for someone, anyone, to save them. Animal carcasses lay about the forest, dismembered and torn to shreds with no regard for the meat, bones or anything really. Just a gruesome display of violence.
He just shakes his head “You’ve lost perspective. You’re complaining about something that’s entirely your fault, tell me, who chose to help all those people? Because I can genuine no one else forced you to.” He says, simply stating facts.

There is an immense pain that practically emanates from its being: A gnawing, churning agony that Mother Misery can recognize as starvation in its direst stages, but to a degree previously thought impossible. The husk of a sunflower seems not to be bothered by it at all, though.
