He follows them inside, cleaning off his hooves and leaving his staff at the door respectfully “No. Any will do. Thank you.”
He grabs the doctor by his shoulders “I need your help right now. Please.” He’s practically begging with every fiber of his being.
She nods “As do I, I worry for him.” She says, his cousin giggling from where she sits, crossing her legs.
"Not picky... How about a nice summer tea? Not my domain, but... something peachy." he says, setting up a kettle.
"Show me where to go." he replies with the same urgency.
"He will be fine... He'll outlive all his problems."
He nods “That would be nice, anything would be good really.” He looks for a place to sit down, smiling softly.
He begins to lead them, making sure not to move too quickly as to lose them, showing them Lilac’s state.
“Thank you for caring for him when I cannot, truly.”
There's a bar counter with comfy stools near the kitchen. "So, how come you were all out there in the cold?"
Losing no time, he gets to work, cleaning her wounds and dressing them.
"He is my disciple... it is my job to care for all the new demigods under my throne."
He sits down there, getting comfortable “I… don’t really have a place to stay, I don’t have much money, but the fire keeps me warm.
He sits down nearby, unable to do much else other than watch, taking deep breaths, trying not to panic.
“And from what I remember, I can’t be among those demigods, because I’m too much scales rather than fur.” She chuckles.
"Well, there's empty houses here in my Quarter. You can decorate it however you like." he offers earnestly, still making the tea.
After a while, the doctor begins to clean up. "She will live, she just cannot leave the cave for a while."
"No, it's your demeanor, dear. Jax is an Arctic fox, made to thrive in the cold... you, however... are just cold."
“Maybe, I will have to see I guess.” He says, rubbing his head with a soft palm.
He nods “Thank you, you can have anything you want from here. You… thank you.” He sits next to the bed, taking deep breaths, looking to her.
She raises an eyebrow, leaning on her palm as her arm rests on the table “What do you mean? I would say I’m just as warm as just Jax, though I’m cold at times”.
He grins and shakes his head, closing his eyes. "Correct. My name is Franz Sugarplum. You can guess who my mother was. I'm... a changeling. I can't shape-shift, but I can still disguise myself. Inedible paint would poison me, so I use food coloring. I think I look very nice. Most people seem to think so too."
“I myself would not conceal my true form, and I find yours to be quite interesting indeed, and equally beautiful. It is very… outlandish to use food coloring for disguise, though unheard of, and therefore very intelligent in that aspect. Most simply call me the Duchess, but my name is Ambrosia. A pleasure.”
"Thank you for telling me your name, Ambrosia. I don't think of myself as smart, just well-educated. I learned that not wearing skin frightens children. I want to teach them, and I need to seem approachable. If a monster tells them to love monsters, it seems selfish. But if a man tells them to love monsters..."
"I believe in a combination of nature and nurture. Natural tendencies toward violence can be encouraged by nurture, so I try to teach empathy and awareness wherever I can." He's speaking normally again. Curious. "Even a child with a gentle nature can be driven to violence in an extreme enough environment. You can teach anyone to be kind if you get to them early enough."
"A new philosophy... its good to see people trying to make the world a better place."
He clears his throat and returns to his regular voice. "Yeah. It is good. I wish it was more common."
"Well, I gotta go before it gets too late, ice is coming in. It was nice to meet you, Franz."
“Maybe, I will have to see I guess.” He says, rubbing his head with a soft palm.
He nods “Thank you, you can have anything you want from here. You… thank you.” He sits next to the bed, taking deep breaths, looking to her.

"Hm. I have found myself once in a city without a sun. Perhaps it was this very place?"
"Y'alright?"
