The book doesn't seem to be magical itself- well, except for Tim's power unconsciously flooding into it- but has all manner of explanations for practicing magic inside. "Yeah, of course! It covers the basics wonderfully, but leaves it open for whatever path you take."
"Aww, alright." She responds with fake disappointment. "Even if it hasn't caused you much harm so far, we still need to proceed with caution. If you do plan on drinking that, you might not want to down the whole vial at once."
He sits down on top of the snow, beginning to study the book, his magic not stopping for a moment with his eyes constantly shifting colors “That’s amazing! This really is something amazing, I don’t know if it can help me, but I’ll try.” He flips through page after page.
He looks to the vial, popping off the cork and thinking about it for a moment, “Maybe later, I wouldn’t want to transform into a beast.” He corks it back up, putting it down as he leans against the table “What are you doing?”
"Glad I could help." She responds, sitting in the snow next to him and reading over his shoulder. "So, any idea what kind of magic you want to learn?"
"Stitching up some injuries in this mannequin." She explains. "Occasionally, they get caught on the spikier decor or some gaggle of troublemakers tries to disassemble them." She continues adding stitches to reattach the mannequin's head.

*I was thinking of giving him what I like to call "casual but still a good dad energy." Like, you see this oni in like a polo shirt, cowboy hat, and cargo shorts barbecuing some ribs in the middle of a slaughtered country club, his shotgun slung over his shoulder. He waves and smiles as if nothing is wrong as a man in the corner with broken legs weakly begs for help.*
*Oh, that seems like it has potential to make them both less and more unnerving at the same time. I imagine the 'casual but still a good dad energy' isn't an act, and he continues his friendly banter even mid-atrocity as he's tearing people's arms off. Maybe they even politely apologize for the horrific slaughtering as they're doing it, with the same nonchalance you'd see if you accidentally bumped into someone as you walk past.*
*Of course. Death isn't something he worries about. It's a non-issue for him. He's not even sadistic, he's just... psychopathic isn't really what he has, but it gets the point across. He sees this as an act of good, not evil, but he's vaguely conflicted about how consent should work here. He doesn't want to encourage suicide, so it can't be consensual, but at the same time he wants to minimize suffering.*
*Although, I was thinking that it's so immensely not on his mind that killing and sparing are on a whim for him. He might not kill you in the middle of his own murder spree just because you looked "too ready" or some (GP), just before blowing away half of an innocent family because they were grouped up and he wanted to see how many he could get in one shot. He feels like violence is a virtue, but at the same time he just wants to make people happy, all because he views life as endless, meaningless suffering.*
*Maybe he only goes on spree killings when he has a reason. Not like "you slighted me in public," more like actual moral reasons, making him more like an anti-hero or even anti-villain.*

She doesn’t have much time to read as he flips from page to page, dog earring pages he wants to return to for later “I don’t know yet, everything seems so cool.” He says with childhood wonder.
He sighs “Troublemakers are all the same, though I understand where they are coming from, having similar fascinations back when I was younger.” He takes out a knife, seemingly taking a moment to examine the creature “Hmm.”

The 'creature' is entirely made of parts from cloth, much more normal mannequins, all stitched together. The places where parts are attached shimmer with what Henry can immediately recognize as blood. "I kinda understand too. Was obsessed with seeing how things worked on the inside as a kid. Still am, to an extent."

He smiles up to them, closing the book for the moment “I can learn multiple types of magic?! That’s so cool!” He says, his eyes shining with interest “You’re so cool Omori. Thank you for this so much.” He looks down to the book.
He chuckles at the blood, wiping some of it off of them, pulling down his mask and licking it before pulling back to sit down and begin carving something out of bone with his knife “That sounds about right, I wouldn’t have half as much interest in you without such a fact.”

There is a little nervous laugh from KK. "I- I'm happy you find this all interesting. I... I find you rather interesting as well." She replies, stumbling over her words a bit.
