“I… I just… my dad always told me I’m stronger than my brother and sister… but I just… a froze… I couldn’t… I just watched them… die… I’m… I’m so sorry I’m telling you all of this.”
Henry begins to slowly step away from the clearing, holding them and making sure not to look back. He doesn’t let himself be shaken by the madness, his silver eyes shining even more than before, seemingly magically enhanced by being so close.
She continues to hug him for as long as he needs. "N- No, it's... it's fine. You can tell me if you need to. I'm here for you."
KK follows him away from the epicenter of madness, holding onto him as well. Her eyes, though not at all magical, hold a solemn sense of both grief and curiosity- she seems to be struggling more with resisting its call than Henry is. For the briefest moment, she pauses in her walk away, before she takes a breath and presses onward.
Eventually he lets go of them, stepping back and leaning against a nearby tree, “T-thank you… you’re the best Omori.”
Henry leads them back to the warehouse, closing and locking the door behind him, and suddenly a weight seems to lift off of him as he is no longer in the same air as the clearing. He drops to the ground, sitting there for a moment and quaking, opening his eyes as they shake, before looking up to her.
"Thanks... I- I try my best." She responds, a small half-smile on her face for a moment. "It's what friends are for, right?"
As soon as the door is closed, she sits on the floor as well, leaning against the wall, also visibly trembling with worry in her eyes. "What... what do we even do?.."

"Aaannd then i punched 'im!" she laughs
He cackles with them, slamming the counter, the wood warping.
"Whoa! yER STRONG!"
He looks at the wood breaking and cackles again “Guess I am!”
"Say, iiiiimmmm looking for a cabin boy, have you seen a young lad or lass around here?"
“I seen some, but nobody built for the sea. I’d be happy ta find ya one when I ain’t working on anything.”
"Much appreciated, mate" she stands up and steps outside

*i’ve discovered most of my favorite characters have really, really sad backstories. Lonely was literally sent away by their own family and pretends its all okay, Rudolph was sent to a Sanatorium because he could supposedly talk to the ghosts of his dead relatives, and Aurelia is mostly a mystery for now but she’s absolutely a mess trying to rule a kingdom with a constant power shortage and a murder plot*

*I don't know how much you like Southern Gothic stories, but you could very easily add the sweet flavor of the South to that new character idea.*
*I heard something for an excellent author recently on that subject. It isn't actually that hard to come up with sorrowful or horrifying things in stories. It is a lot harder to instill real joy and gladness in writing. Writing sad and fearful stories is good but there should be a light that overpowers that darkness. Otherwise the story has not fully matured.*
*Don't take this the wrong way, I love a good horror story. Tragedies and stories that end with melancholy have their place and are great, but one should be careful not to forget that there is light and goodness. And if goodness is better than darkness, shouldn't it be written about?*
*Anyways, I'm trying to think of a character to reintroduce back here since it has been awhile.*
